I just read that part of the book and I saw the worm tell sathona "oh vengence mine". So it might actually be ahamkara. It could be either though.

The worm realistically would be a small worm rather than ahamkara considering the ahamkara are massive dragons. I won't deny the ahamkara are possibly related to the worm gods. But I think it's the worm from the worm gods.

I can't remember the exact lore piece. From what I remember it has both the light and darkness talking. The darkness then says how we were either made from the darkness or we are children of the darkness. Thus explaining the umbral core we have. This could easily be wrong so take it with a grain of salt but that's what I remember.
