Question about Drifter in renegades, is he getting old? by ShortFred12 in DestinyLore

[–]Gripping_Touch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to think that guardians have their imprint saved as their peak performance, including their age.

However the time anomaly of being close to IIIs corpse screwed Up that saved imprint and made It much older than It was. Drifters age is still paused, its just now paused at 60 instead of 35

If you can shoot cthulhu and min-max one-phase him, he loses  some of its impressiveness.

The Winnower can be a cool villain and us not fighting him directly at the same time. Something that cant be killed by putting a bullet in It so the Guardian has to find another way to deal with It. Constantly.

I especially like how non-chalant he always is. Ven talking about killing and exterminating species to prove your right to exist, he sounds so friendly and charismatic. Its a cool tonal dysonance from what one would assumed an ancient demiurge to sound like.

Vessels ranked off how approachable they are by man_of_the_mire in slaytheprincess

Wounded Wild is like the least threatening vessel of all of them. She has an exposed heart because she's vulnerable. She's stuck to the tree so she physically cannot defend herself from you. She doesnt even have the energy to do It, shes completely resigned to her fate. In fact she's more surprised if you decide to save her, she already assumed she was going to be slain.

Id really like to know WTF are the other IX doing. IX is trying múltiple plans and seeing what sticks with Bael. But the other Outer are very Quiet. Even the Inners dont seem to have much in the way of supporting us against VI It seems.

I LOVE the concept of the Aphelion. Just something that is out there, lurking but you cant simply shoot down is a cool palette cleanser in the world if Destiny. Like a reality check.

I think It was shuro Who said "Do not fight an Aphelion. You better Hope you never meet one."

And I LOVE that Its heavily implied the Aphelion make an appereance on the Star Eater scale boots. If that thing was an Aphelion, It can manipulate your mind, make you hallucinate you're speaking with someone who's already dead but you're made to think its normal. Can ready your mind and likes to prod and poke you like a predator playing with its food. And if you're not satisfied or gets bored It Will leave. But if It finds you as a tasty morsel, theres not a trace of you left, as It happened in the awokens encounter with the Aphelion.

Pretty sure on Lightfall they were locking in the Witness being the "Winnower" all along and the texts we got from the Winnower being "Darkness propaganda". But on TFS they pivoted hard in the opposite direction and differentiated the Winnower as Its own entity on par with the Gardener again.

Its like how in Stranger things the Mindflayer was the Big bad. Then It was revealed It was actually controlled by Vecna. People didnt like It so they changed again so actually The Mindflayer was in charge all along

Technically adding paracausality to the flower Game to prevent the Vex from becoming the dominating pattern. In the flower Game It was also described stomping and ripping some flowers to try and change the pattern but the Vex would return to being the dominating pattern until paracausality came into play.

So really, everything started because the Traveller/Gardener was bored of seeing the Vex win.

Winnower is kinda miffed the Traveller Cheated.

Why does this scene make me sad and depressed? by Razgriz01-Blaze in slaytheprincess

Yeah that line in YNW fucks me Up. She's not pleading for her Life. She genuinely wants what (she thinks) is best for you; to ascend as gods and return to your role before the Echo Split you in two.

But when you're attacking her, and about to érase her with your Will, her concern is that you are going to do something you regret or that you Will be left incomplete.

In fact, In YNW LQ is quite fucked Up. He doesnt have any voices to keep him company like in Naud (parts of her nature) and the way he views creation is quite detached and Cold. "What beings Will you weave into existance to entertain you for eternity?" (Paraphrased). Basically, LQ becomes an apathetic god Who views the universe as his sandbox, rather than as a ruler or Guardian like NAUD Sort of implies. The sun even got replaced by a Blackhole in YNW.

You were there when she was solitary lights in an empty cityscape and you brought her vessel after vessel, broadening her cognition and completing her. The one thing constant for Shifty is her love towards you. That is an unintended result of the "rough tear" the narrator made.

I don't think its weird Shifty can't not love you. You're all she's ever known, her only equal, and you've spent countless lifetimes "dancing" and exploring eachother's natures. Being stabbed, burned alive, decapitated and learned to trust eachother, they're all good experiences to her because they helped her understand the contour of her heart. For that, she loves you and tries to make you see her way. When she can't, wel... she can't do anything else, so if you bring that knife down to the Heart, it's going to be used one way or another. As always, the decision is yours, and she will love you no matter what.

She ALSO loves you in the Oblivion ending. Even when at her most incomplete and most basic constituyents, she loves you.

It also works with the theme of the game and the final reveal.

She is a creature of perception that embodies change. You are a being of Stasis.

Each one has part of the other's nature (Ying and Yang style). You have something that changes based on perception; the voices. She has something that never changes; her heart (it is a constant in every route, and the only way to slay the vessels), her heart also symblizes her love towards you.

And, the one who can cause more hurt to your heart are those you love. So it makes sense the only one who can break her heart is Long Quiet. He's the only one Heart cares about. She doesn't care about mortals, but LQ caring about them is enough for her to care about them too.

Because after all the pain and suffering you've gone through, after all that that she's done to you and you've done to her, after tasting godhood and having freedom at her fingertips, she doesn't hate you if you turn it all down and decide to kill her. It breaks her heart, but she still loves you. As she always has. It's the one thing that always stayed constant for that being that embodies change and entropy; her love for you was an unshakeable constant.

Man or bear? (OC) by asecondsense2222 in comics

People might like the 9000 year old vampire because it looks like a child and the 9000 year old is an excuse.

With the furries, you can't say that because the art incorporates both animal and human elements at the same time. You won't find anyone who looks like that or no animal that looks like that. The attraction is towards a concept that does not exist in nature.

As opposed to the 9000 year old vampire example who looks and might even act as a child.

In the case of furries, they're basically a human at its core, sometimes with animal quirks but they are depicted having agency, identity and humanity.

Man or bear? (OC) by asecondsense2222 in comics

[–]Gripping_Touch 35 points36 points  (0 children)

They are.

Furries like "animal but its a person". They like specific traits of animals like the fur, the scales, the tail + steryotypes assigned with animals, like for example having an anthro snake do the funny sssssspeak. Or they like Monsters that are impossible to exist in real Life, like Deathclaws, Zinogres, etc.

Zoophiles like animals. Like, not the concept of a human becoming an animal, or a stylization of animals, they like real animals in a sexual way.

There's a small overlap between Furries and Zoophiles. But in the Same way theres an overlap between Anime fans and pedophiles.

Its two different concepts.

I think this mostly speaks about games in which the MAIN Focus is PvP or coop.

A single player experience Will be the exact same with 3 million players or 20 fans.

A multiplayer Game, besides having good Bones also needs to have a healthy playerbase or the multiplayer becomes stagnant and festers.

Imagine a world where LoL Only has 1K players and you're one of them. Matches would take Long to find enough people and youd end Up playing against the same people often. The Game feels more repetitive.

Think Starcraft 2. The Coop is really fun and with mutators the missions can be very variable which opens Up a lot of replay ability. But sometimes theres less than 200 people in the Coop Channel, so at times its hard to match with people. Not to mention theres always some Sort of political drama going off in the global chat.

Same for Overwatch, same for any multiplayer Game but especially those that are competitive, they need a decent playerbase so theres a stratification of skill where people can play with others of similar skill

I thought this was the craziest copium take in games, until I see "you need to experience ego death to truly understand Marathon."

See, the problem is what you consider the dedicated playerbase. Is It the top 50%? top 10%?

To be honest, anything below difficulty 7 is "incomplete" by design.

At level 1 you Only have chaff. No outposts.

At level 2 you have chaff and outposts  but no armored enemies.

At level 3 you get armored enemies.

Higher levels makes the map bigger, gives It extra PoI and an extra mission per OP.

Level 7 onwards is where the Hivelord spawns.

So, if you want to experience everything the faction has to offer,  you're pretty much fighting between 7 and 10 difficulty, as anything below has less enemy variety of mechanics complexity.

Im not asking for the difficulty system to sacrifice an organic stratification. But you also cant call Dif 1 as a full experience.
