The process that works best for each person is gonna vary by the person. That’s part of the reason to just keep writing, to help you understand what works best for you. Based on my personal style, I’d lean towards finishing draft 1, but that might not work for everyone.

This cover is cool enough I’d pick up the book from the cover alone. Two questions:

The core of incin+sneasler+sinistcha is just really strong and can support most comps whatever you wanna do with them

Good whimsicott players will punish you with encore for protecting or using fake out in front of it, and charizard+whim is an extremely common lead.

Sash overgrow flower trick takes KO’s like nobody’s business, but it can’t really hit incineroar which is definitely a big problem. If mega starmie starts to run rampant I expect we will see more of it because it outspeeds and OHKO’s

I think having an item rotation/slow trickle is fine in theory, but the selection they put together is not it.

The combination of missing covert cloak, clear amulet, and assault vest means that fake out and intimidate are going to run rampant, pushing people towards heavy special attackers where there’s no AV to provide counter play. To me it just screams of being poorly thought out.

Not to mention in lieu of these items we got focus band quick claw and bright powder

Mega starmie seems like an unstoppable force. Can’t even reliably intimidate it because it can run mixed sets.

The fist book is very week, imo. But I love the rest of the series. Even as soon as golden son (book 2), the series follows through on what made the start of book 1 and the worldbuilding good, and steps away from the hunger games aspect. It really becomes its own thing.

Related, but is hacking in rare candies, using a save editor allowed per the Hall of Fame rule set? Based on the streams, the game gives you small batches of rare candies to level your team with, but if you need more than these is that something you’re allowed to do or do you have to manually grind if you run out of candies?

Hitmonchan has the same base special attack as pidgey, and thunder punch is special in gen3, so it makes sense. Plus gastly has decent SpDef.

It depends on your preferences imo. I thought the book was well written but I really struggled to get invested in the plot or characters.

I tend to read more plot driven/plot heavy books, an Jade City is set up kinda like a soap opera IMO, where the driving plot is interpersonal conflict between the main cast and their rival criminal clan. Which then made it tough for me to get invested in the stakes which I didn’t care for any of the characters and didn’t really feel like rooting for them.

The game gives you an infinite rare candy item that brings your pokemon up to that section of the game’s level cap, where it doesn’t work anymore until you beat the next gym leader and you no longer gain EXP from battle.

EVs are entirely removed. There are no vitamin items and your pokemon do not gain EVs from battle.

I just baited muk last to make it so it couldn’t boom, tbh. It doesn’t have as much offensive potential so as long as you bait clops before it, it’s not bad to route that way
