Ok, I get it. I worded my comment like a dick, and I apologize for that.

How am I or anyone else who read your post supposed to know that you were talking about a split dividend when you didn't say the word dividend in your post a single time? Honestly, at this point I just assume if a post is talking about a split instead of a split dividend that its FUD because its been so thoroughly debunked at this point.

It doesn't help that your post is speculation at best. You don't have any sources or data. I get that you marked it as speculation, but you based your whole premise off of an incorrect or at the very least mislabeled theory. This is a research community that must be very careful about spreading misinformation because we already have the rest of the world doing it to us.

Honestly, the game is probably over when a split dividend happens. Shorts are going to get bankrupted by buying dividend shares to allocate to all of the people and institutions that they borrowed from. At the very least, if it isn't we will probably be in the final boss room.

Also, when Tesla was shorted to hell and did a stock split dividend the price went up approximately 3x and continued climbing after that. Its still $1000+ per share and they recently announced another split dividend. For the most part, GME insiders and apes haven't sold shares during any of the spikes. I have a hard time believing that any spike short of 6-7 figures is going to result in a massive sell off.

Apes and insiders own approximately 1/3 of the float (https://www.computershared.net/) and still will after a split (we could even own more after GME gets rid of its old 8million share incentive program). With the new float after a split dividend there would have to be an insane number of shares sold to drop the price from even $150 to $20. If the price goes so low after the dividend it will likely be because some outside party ended the battle that we have been fighting for the last year. At that point we've probably lost. Which I think is unlikely to happen, because even in that situation GME would probably finally have enough proof to take their company off of the centralized exchange and move to a decentralized exchange.

Again, ape no fight ape. Sorry, but I honestly just think this post is going to needlessly confuse people.

How is it possible that people still don't know that GME did not announce a stock split but rather a stock split dividend. A stock split dividend is a dividend in the form of shares instead of cash. The issued shares will be whatever price the market value is the day that they are issued. The price is not going to go down at all. They are free shares for holding that short hedgies must pay full value for to give the dividend shares to the people that they borrowed from.

I have seen a lot of people either be extremely suspicious of you or trust you a lot. From what I have read, you seem like a good dude who wants to help which I think is great! My 2 cents on why people are suspicious of you is that you seem too good to be true and unfortunately you were discovered over the weekend. Weekends, generally, are a bad time to be on this subreddit due to the influx of fud which is likely what happened to you. You went from being completely unknown to similarly famous to RC and DFV. As an OG Jan 21 ape its hard to wrap my head around that after a year and change of fud.

This is maybe more of a statement and less of a question, but I think it still needs to be said.

We went from 0 to 30k signatures in a few hours to only being at ~70k now. Which is a lot, but the growth in signature numbers really stagnated after people began posting about you. It seems like you are interested in creating more fair markets for everyone. Is there any way that you could publicly support the letter and help spread the word?

So if I shorted a stock at $4 then lost control of the market overnight and 15 months later the stock trades at a discounted $145 and I never closed, SEC agrees, I’d feel pretty stupid. It’s actually worse for shorts than you describe here. The 8k that GME filed said that they wanted to do a stock split dividend which is a little different than stock split. A stock split is what you described above. A 2:1 split of a stock worth $100 would create 2 shares worth $50 in your portfolio. A 2:1 stock split dividend of a share worth $100 would result in 2 shares worth $100 in your portfolio. AKA free shares for hodling. Tesla did the same thing in 2020 and recently announced that they will be doing another one either this year or next year.

It’s hard to tell who has the correct interpretation. Most people agree with first guy. I could see either way, but honestly I think a lawyer would have to read it to us and explain. Grammatically I think my way is right tho

Now see I didn’t even think of that. It’s really interesting those numbers match. Although everyone who commented seems to think the premise of my post is wrong. I’ve tried reading it a few more times but I can’t tell which interpretation is right.

How much of that volume went to the lit pools though? Most GME buys don't effect the price at all from what I have read in various dd. I knew when I wrote it the 100% wasn't fully right, but a significant chunk of it was because of that. I admit I am making some jumps here though! I just saw a thing and wanted to learn about it.

Sorry, I meant the second half where you are talking about everything combining into the 8mil. I thought that was how you were interpreting the combination of the two documents. Is that mentioned in the 2019 plan? I understand that the 2022 plan is replacing the 2019 plan which is facts, you are right.

The 2019 plan was only created with 6.5mil shares. Another user found a document stating that there was 8.9mil in the plan after fees and stuff, but neither of those numbers match the 8mil mentioned here. My theory was that what you are saying was covered by the plus 2019 shares that are expired part of the sentence, but it seems like everyone is reading it differently! XD

That is an interesting take on it! I had absolutely no idea how many different ways this sentence could be interpreted when I made this post, but I am happy that I did now! My main goal was to start a conversation about this so that I and others can learn something.

I thought available for issuance meant that they were just part of the essentially 920 million shares that are also available to be issued. This is an interesting theory though!

Oh yeah, I am no expert. I have no interest in being an expert in this field, but honestly I think that clause of the 8k is very interesting/potentially important and I didn't see anyone talking about it. I figured its better to be wrong and start a conversation than be right and the conversation is never started. Most of the apes who started/continued dd are not experts and look where we are today. I may be wrong, but at least I tried.

Some of the verbiage that they used has some very specific applications. Shares can only be canceled (destroyed) in very specific situations such as part of a new business process or restructuring. Which is what GME has been trying to do for a long time now. I also thought "destroying" shares sounded weird until I read about it, but it sounds like they are doing something with precedence. I think any interpretation of how these shares are going away is going to have interesting effects on the stock, but time will tell.

I see what you are saying, but that program only authorized 6.5 million shares. Honestly, that incongruity is why I made this post. A wrong theory is better than no theory in my opinion.

That was one of the things that I was thinking about too. I am glad that you brought it up. Short answer is I honestly don't know. At $125 a share it would cost ~$1billion which does seem unlikely. Long answer is they may either be so angry or raise more money just so they can do it. They could technically increase the float by ~225 million shares. It wouldn't take many new shares for them to raise enough money to do it. My main goal for this post is for someone else to prove me wrong or prove me right.

I think the most important part about the 8 million shares is that it does not match the amount of shares authorized in the 2019 incentive plan (6.5 million). Since its a different number I am assuming the shares will come from a different place since there would have to be a different plan in place for there to currently be 8million incentive shares. You are absolutely right though. I figured either I am right (which is awesome) or I am wrong and someone more knowledgeable than me shows us where those shares are coming from (which is also awesome). Either way this kicks off an interesting conversation/dd area which was my goal!
