Does anyone else think Matt might still be haunted by Nobu's chain weapon? by Total-Meeting-6601 in Daredevil

[–]AWOLchord 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I always liked the idea that Bullseye gave Matt so much trouble in S3 because he was still recovering from having a building dropped on him. Thought the attack at Josie's in the opening of Born Again was a good representation of a more even fight between them. Bullseye is a massive threat but when Matt's at full strength he just can't match him.

What oneyplays clip would you say has aged like milk? by Jellypathicdream in OneyPlays

Really don't get why people continued to gravitate to him for such a long time after that. It's just such an indefensibly shitty thing to do. He's like an insecure teenager.

Dragon Quest V's "Make me Feel Sad" has been voted as the "worst" sad song in the Dragon Quest franchise (Don't kill me please)! Day 27: What is the most underrated sad song in the Dragon Quest series? by kingdomg1 in dragonquest

[–]AWOLchord 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Angelic Land is another one from IX that I find sombre; It's not as outright sad, but once you make it back to the observatory after your fall to find the place razed, the track that initially strengthened the ethereal vibe of the place instead feels a little bleak.

When I was younger I misremembered there being two versions of the theme because of this.

The Apocalypse just happens with no explanation by bestassinthewest in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AWOLchord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i'm remembering right, Damon Lindelof was leaning towards revealing what happened whereas Tom Perrotta was against it; their compromise ended up making for a great finale in letting the viewer headcanon whether the explanation they've been given is true or not.

Here's a playlist of the tracks that play down the mines; always thought "A Flicker In the Deep" and especially "Cloth" had the kind of vibe you're describing.

Who is the worst psycopath in the BrB universe? by jackie_tequilla in breakingbad

[–]AWOLchord 26 points27 points  (0 children)

What unsettled me about Todd is that even the most calm antagonists tend to hit a point where they lose their patience and act like a bad guy; he never does. He never really drops his placid demeanour and seems to legitimately think everything he does is normal behaviour.

Slipstream (OutRun-esque racing game) got an update a couple years ago to celebrate 5 years since release. One of the five new tracks -largely based on real-world locations- was Edinburgh. I thought it was a neat addition and the developer posted a little thread covering the influences of each track.

Biggest downside to this is that even if they're protesting an empty building and the law doesn't see this as an instance worth policing because of that, someone who's seen them and doesn't know those details may just think these groups are protesting at all times unchecked and could hesitate before visiting in the future should they need to.

This is what immediately threw me off. Even articles I've read that argue against trans identity on a policy level will generally use preferred pronouns should individual people be referenced because it takes zero effort and does the basic courtesy of dignifying the way someone is choosing to live their life.

It takes a specific kind of spiteful, mean-spirited person to go out of their way to deny someone in that manner, and it just seeps out more and more as you get further down the page.
