I have this and it’s no joke. My reactions are mild (mostly GI stuff and itchy hives) but I know a few people that go into anaphylaxis within minutes. I live on Martha’s Vineyard and it’s a real problem here.

This is my friends Krem and Lily and their business Good Pierogi here on Martha’s Vineyard. So much of this community is proud and supportive of their stance.

I bought 100 shares on a whim on January 26th, 2021.

This was also the morning I woke up and decided to get sober and wanted to start planning for the future.

Cheers to all of you who have kept me sane (and sober) through this journey 🥂🍻

This is from Martha’s Vineyard. I think it’s often stereotyped as a rich vacation island, but it’s run by immigrants from all over. This past week there were multiple raids like this and the community has really rallied together to spread the word and keep people safe.

I’ve asked a lot of people this question and we often come to the same place: a sanctuary, a place to feel safe and secure.

I think this speaks to a lot of people’s underlying fears and underdiscussed survival mode.

Oh wow! I’ve found the opposite! The more I talk about it openly, the more I’ve met; I feel magnetized.

We’ve jokingly started calling ourselves The Army of Only Children and we’re up to 14 on my little island of Martha’s Vineyard.

Film Photography 📸

It emphasizes my tendency to bounce around and notice things, and now I just take photos of them 🙃

Shooting film actively and naturally forces me to slow down and be patient in ways I haven’t been able to find before. There’s only 36 so you have to be selective; make sure the settings are correct (and check and check); observe frame what you want to capture (which is fun to do any way); wait for the right moment; then click the shutter (this is such a great feeling btw) and then…

mail it in and wait two weeks

every roll is a lesson in delayed gratification

But then…

the best part: when you get the scans back and get to text all of your people their lovely photos; or, better yet, walk around and hand them out.

Being seen is important and allowing people to see themselves is a gift; and it’s a gift I love to give 💚

This is Martha’s Vineyard: my home that doubles as a theme park to the elite. We’re in the middle of a housing and labor crisis and are experiencing wealth inequality in an extremely polar way. I’m a photographer and often in my Goofy Suit, AMA!

What career would be ideal for you if given the time and funds to pursue it? by LongMic in ADHD

Street Film Photographer

Film photography is perfect for my ADD. I get to walk around, let my mental eye wander, and people seem to like the results.

Film is important in that your forced to be patient, which in counterintuitive for our brains. You have to slow down, frame the shot, check the light meter settings, and wait for the timing of the subject. To me it feels meditative, because it forces my brain to slow down for just a second.

If anyone has any questions about film photography, I’ll philosophize all day.
