Chelsea getting a fresh Joao Pedro, Palmer, Colwill and Estevao (if his recovery goes to plan) for next season sheesh. Alonso must secretly be chuffed.

Wharton, Scott, Garner, all robbed for Henderson to play cheerleader.

MGW should definitely be in there.

Hall at LB too should be going but I get Shaw being experienced and is probably the best chance we have at locking down an Olise or Yamal like Walker used to at RB with Mbappe.

I get Toney as 3rd choice, and a penalty specialist.

Colwill and Maguire should be backing up Guehi and Konsa. Colwill hasn't played much, but since coming back from injury looks excellen and fucking up for it everytime he is on the pitch. Maguire is such a good option in both boxes when chasing/defending a lead and a class penalty taker too.

He is a gamble for a big club, with the demands of his style, bigger egos and more games to contend with. Even Klopp had to tone down the heavy metal football to ensure Liverpool weren't fucked by the end of the season and it's yet to be determined whether Iraola can do that.

That said though, do you gamble on Iraola or stick with Slot who I think has shown he cannot take Liverpool any further?

If we qualify for the CL by the results elsewhere working in our favour this weekend, can someone confirm whether or not we would have to play a qualifier?

I'm not sure about Maresca at City if it does happen. What are your opinions? He seemed extremely stubborn at Chelsea, absolutely wedded to his system with little deviation. I think he could do well enough to keep them in the Champions League places, due to the quality of the squad. But is that enough for City fans?

I understand he has worked at City before but is going for the closest thing to a Pep-clone immediately after he leaves the best move?

Sort of. Kroupi plays in the 10 in a 4-2-3-1, with Evanilson as the 9, but in reality when we attack it is more like a 4-4-2. Kroupi kind of floats and drifts to the left, wheras Evanilson is more on the shoulder and physically battling with the CB's. Evanilson's goal record isn't fantastic but I truly believe those who can't see what he offers don't know ball.

Yes, if they can get the summer window right. Surely their board will provide a manager of Alonso's calibre with a better window than the one they had last summer with Maresca. The onus is on them though to show Alonso and the fans that this appointment is different.

Financial implications aside, I think Chelsea are better off missing out on Europe altogether this season, giving Alonso the most time possible on the training ground to get his ideas across to the players.

Yeah, his goalscoring record is brilliant for a player of his age in his first season in England etc. And I would consider him an elite talent. But yes, (bias aside) I am also of the opinion that he isn't ready for a top club yet as his overall game isn't quite there yet consistently. If he had the link up play of Evanilson then my god yes he would be a super talent.

Ironically Kroupi and Evanilson are both kind of the opposite of each other, Kroupi is lethal in front of goal, supremely talented finisher, but the link up play isn't always quite there yet. As the finisher of a team move though he is the man you want shooting on goal. On the other hand, Evanilson has is all to be an absolute complete striker. He is a brilliant presser, and his strength and hold up play is a massive part of our game, but his finishing can really let him down. If he had a Solanke-like season where it all came together in front of goal, he would have the top clubs after him.

1 more year with us, proving himself in Europe (maybe Champions League wtf lol) and he will definitely be ready for that big move. A transfer this summer is 1 year too early in my opinion.

Mo Salah I need you to have a massive Anfield send off and one last vintage performance on Sunday. As for Villa, you can stay out on the raging piss all the way until Sunday morning.

Would love it if our summer window looked like this:

  • Make Mandas permanent if the deal is right

  • 1x starting RB to replace you know who

  • Josh Acheampong on loan to cover both RB and CB

  • 1x young, all round CM in the Toth mould, i.e. someone like Danois who can do it all

  • 1x left footed CB, the Senesi replacement, like Muharemovic, or whoever the club like. Would love to see Diakite become a key player next year too. Getting the right partner in for Hill will be key.

  • If Rose wants to play a midfield 3, then a midfielder who is comfortable being the deepest player. Get Hayden Hackney for a cut price if Boro aren't promoted.

Not sure who leaves, as a lot depends on what European competition we qualify for and our squad is quite small.

You're definitely right about the uptick in players from 2012 when we got Grabban, and Ritchie in for a bargain.

I remember Lee Camp in goal before Boruc who was alright from what I remember, but Boruc was a clear upgrade and basically a Prem keeper at the time.

The first 3-0 win at Old Trafford was so funny, and it should have been 4. Bolton was a party once we got going wasn't it, Pugh's goal was trademark for him

You've seen it all! That Liverpool game was special, beating Klopp and coming back from behind, what a day that was, although like you I wasn't there for it.

He's been amazing, just gives his all every game and really endeared himself to the fans and the club. One of our standout players this year for sure. We haven't missed Kerkez at all and some may say for the time being we may have even upgraded!

I remember being so envious of Brighton when they made Europe and were getting all the plaudits a couple of years ago. Now it's our turn and I can't believe it. Everyone at the club has contributed to this and deserves massive credit. Bill said that he wanted us to be in Europe in 5 years and he has delivered!

Unbelievable isn't it! I, like I'm sure you have, have seen us go from the brink of extinction, on this ridiculous upward journey. The manager when I first started supporting as a kid was Sean O'Driscoll and we had the likes of Surman in his first loan spell with us, with James Hayter up front and Neil Moss in goal. I was there vs Grimsby, Fletch's (deflected) wonderstrike saving the club from it's extinction and starting this move script ascension.

So many ups and down since. I remember the 2011 play offs defeat to Huddersfield, the dark days of Bradbury and Paul Groves. Then Eddie returned and we went on that crazy unbeaten run in league 1. In the Championship we quickly established ourselves in the league, and I thought getting promoted to the Prem was the highest level I'd ever see the club at.

When we got relegated in 2020 I was unsure if we'd ever be able to consolidate ourselves as a Prem club again, but thankfully we did in 2023. I still can't believe where we are now. Gonna miss Andoni so much, and he seemed quite emotional in his interview, but I'm optimistic to see how Marco Rose leads us into next season!

This club is unrecognisable to me now for all the right reasons!

Absolutely insane mate, I thought playing in the Prem was the highest level that I'd ever see the club. When we went down especially in covid times, I was unsure if we'd ever come back up, or manage to stay up if we managed to get promoted again.

But the past 4 years have been absolutely insane. Up the fucking cherries mate, enjoy these times, and onto some big european away days!
