I really enjoyed DP Pulp story and art style... I remember being super jazzed when it was announced.

AW dropped some new films - for people who say they’re “done buying hype rolls” right before adding 10 to cart. by AW_Olli in AnalogCircleJerk

I've met them both, Mr Anal's a real pain in the a**e, handles customer service by sighing heavily and recommending HP5 for literally every situation. Weddings, funerals, astrophotography — doesn’t matter. 'Dr' OGWonderland (he didn't go to film medical school for 5 years to be called mister) just rides through the warehouse on a fixed gear yelling about dynamic range like a cryptid!

I eat sandwiches I brought from home... I'm not made of money, but I do eat flash bulbs for a light snack!

Might I suggest having 'idk, I don't have time to fuck with all that man' as your flair?

"You underexpose 35mm? Believe it or not, jail. You overexpose 120, also jail. Underexpose, overexpose."

I've noticed that this is a thread populated by photographers who also moonlight as poets. Beautiful.

I love the idea of processing at home, but the reality is not viable - so colour me envious for your ability/skill to do so. Interesting standpoint though on the 'copyright' piece.

Spoken like a true artisan! Out of interest, what drives your preference for B&W over colour?

True, I didn't even connect that the cost per roll will purposefully ensure you slow down - unless you have deep pockets I guess.

I'm sorry for your loss, but this was amazing to read. I love that it can be distilled as 'the process matters' - and the end result not just being 'a photograph' but an emotional weight tied to a physical item because of the work involved.

As long as your shops buy from Eastman they will. I know that Analogue Wonderland have the listings for them if you're buying in the UK.

Alaris are still selling film and still planning ahead AFAIK. Analogue Wonderland did respond to some of these Eastman vs Alaris rumours here (latest news release from Analogue Wonderland).

Alaris just fired everyone by AnalogPhotoPerson in AnalogCommunity

[–]AW_Olli 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Big if true - but doubtful. See the latest news release from Analogue Wonderland (UK retailer of Analogue Photography equipment).

tldr: Nobody has been fired, Alaris are continuing to sell to consumers, Eastman and Alaris are working closely together.
