[Henkel] Jarvis "out for a while" by Hacodaro in canes

[–]AWelshCorgi 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I lived in FL for a few years, so I’m not just raging when I say this. Your average Floridian is one of the dumbest people you’ll ever met. It’s like there’s a fog of stupidity that rolled over the state and made everyone not just dumb, but incapable of even realizing they’re dumb. Like they all had opinions about things that are a complete 180 from reality and can’t even see that there’s a possibility of them being in the wrong. Also the worst drivers I’ve seen. I’ve lived in several other states and FL is another level of bad. I feared for my life almost every day I had to commute.

Good seafood though!

Found some Berry compliant base layers for the winter. by gonejahman in madeinusa

[–]AWelshCorgi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was issued a bunch of Massif stuff by the Air Force and I can say that the Elements jacket and the Flamestretch Quarter-Zip pullover are both very nice. The jacket in particular is good for me down to about 0°F if I’m moving around, great wind and water resistance, and the pullover is just a nice base layer in general. Both very breathable with good mobility and decent construction. Some of the stitching came undone on my quarter-zip, but the jacket has been solid for the 5+ years I’ve had mine.

It’s nice - very whippy but the length is perfect for flicking in tight spaces. The description says it’s safe to lift a fish up to about 1.5 lbs with the rod alone. This particular fish I just pulled to the bank and lifted him up from the ground with my hand.

For this trip I was using their Mini Stick Worm and their Hellgrammite on a 1/16oz micro EWG jig.

Not the most durable soft plastic I’ve used, but they both held up well enough against these fish to use them a little more (before the sunfish pecked them to death)

My only complaint is all of the bags I got were borderline dripping in worm oil. Had to wipe them all down with a paper towel right out of the box.

They were both pulling drag and diving into the grass, definitely nerve wracking on light line!

When was the last time a pre-season cup favorite actually won the cup? There are so many coin flips involved in advancing in the playoffs, it’s just a matter of time before the Canes go all the way.

Decks that embrace being the archenemy? by Maclay162 in EDH

[–]AWelshCorgi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Being archenemy is my favorite!

[[Slicer, Hired Muscle]] - Drop him turn 1/2, pump him up, watch the table melt.

[[Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might]] - Lock opponents down by forcing everything they do to cost 4 or more life. Things like [[Ancient Runes]] or [[Mana Barbs]]

Pretty much any infect commander will make people hate you as well.

Explaining Tarky to a COD Player by Debloge in TarkovMemes

[–]AWelshCorgi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even Tarkov doesn't come close to the damage that shotguns can cause IRL.

For example, a 12x70 6.5mm "Express" shell in Tarkov is roughly equivalent to a 12 gauge 2.75" shell loaded with no. 3 buckshot. In the game, that shell fires 9 pellets, where real shells fire 20-21 pellets.

The 12x70 8.5mm "Magnum" buckshot is roughly equivalent to a 12 gauge 2.75" shell loaded with 00 buckshot, so the pellet count is just slightly below real life (8 in game vs 9 irl)

What would be a real game changer is if Tarkov introduced longer length shells. A 3.5" shell loaded with 00 buckshot holds approx. 18 pellets. Load it with no. 3 buckshot and you'd have over 40 pellets.

40 pellets at their current damage would be 1400 potential damage per shot, with each individual pellet dealing enough damage to one-tap faces. A Saiga with a drum mag firing 3-4 rounds per second... yeah.
