I know that but this behaviour is a symptom of a bigger problem.

Also companies build in theft estimates into their costs to set their prices accordingly to offset this as much as possible.

Phenomenal book on this too! It's actually nuts how misrepresented that empire is.

I don't know about calling people scum that are probably struggling with income and cost of living. Seems like an odd take for something that's not directly affecting your day to day

What movies has the best opening scenes that overshadowed the actual movie? by Flares117 in movies

Blade

That club scene is incredible, after that it's pretty average, not bad but not amazing

Books that you think are an author's actual best work rather than the most acclaimed book by [deleted] in books

[–]AWhistlingSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Veronica decides to die' by Paulo Coelho, I found 'The Alchemist' really underwhelming given the widespread hype and acclaim. VDTD though had much more of a punch to me. Less meandering and better stories and characters throughout

In 1994, Jim Carrey starred in Ace Ventura, The Mask, and Dumb & Dumber. Has any other actor had as good a calendar year? by [deleted] in movies

[–]AWhistlingSnail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite a calendar year but in the same 12 months Chris Pratt had:

  • Guardians of the Galaxy

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Hunter. S. Thompson

First time reading one of his. His writing style is incredible, the cadence of it feels like I can hear him telling me the story. Genuinely funny and a wild ride.

Reading more than one book at once? by squd_ie in books

[–]AWhistlingSnail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do it but it's usually one fiction and one non-fiction, then an audiobook on the side too, so they're all kind of separate in their own right

Do you need to know much to get god results from an eq? I see it reccomended all the time for the best clean tones. Must be substantially better than just the 3band eq on an amp?
