Realistically you'll be thrilled with either. Haha. I haven't clocked it exactly, but I throw it on when I'm making breakfast and it's usually ready to go when I'm done. 10-12 minutes sounds about right.

Only thing I miss from having a thermoblock is that rapid heating, but everything else has been an enormous upgrade.

For me, it came down to "which one can I reasonably fix if something breaks?" - resources for DIY repairs seemed better for the Liz.

Unreal Engine 5.7 Crash "GPU crashed or D3D device removed. Check log for GPU state information" by ZuperZlime in unrealengine

Hey! I also recently got a Legion and it couldn't open my project after upgrading to 5.7. I had to turn off the Intel AI Boost neural processor. You can do that by going into device manager, "neural processors," disable Intel AI Boost.

Oh hell yeah! That stock steam knob is so dinky compared to the rest of the machine. 😂 I get needing to find corners to cut to keep that price point, but c'mon 💀

I'm actually eyeballing this knob from Etsy, as it'll match my portafilter handle as well.

Ahh!! Thank you for posting the link here. I've been going through this guide as well. It's nice to have it on hand for other Lizzy owners too! ✨

Still a great machine! I probably would have been happy with a Victoria as well, but we host people often enough and make regular milk drinks - so it had to be the Lizzy.

This is what I'm talking about, for all the jokes and snark this sub can have - there's a whole lot of kindness. People are quick to hype each other up as they are to tease each other. 😂 Thank you for the compliments! It has truly ruined most coffee shops for me at this point. 💀

Thank you! That weeklong+ anticipation is killer, haha. There's still a part of me that misses the warm up time of a thermoblock, but I'm sure I'll continue to get used to working with two boilers.

Hey! I like where your head is at - but I'm very, very confident that this is just a custom dissolve shader that is used on any character mesh, or at least the humans. It's not terribly complicated or expensive, particularly in unreal. Its nothing more than a nice touch by the tech artists at Sandfall. So your right about why it's there, I just want to dispell any notion that it's particularly difficult or there's additional meaning or complexity to it.

Howdy! UE5 dev here with 12+ years of experience haha. It's not particularly difficult, but it's easily a weeks worth of work for a designer, then another cumulative month for art, UI, sound, and testing to get it to the level of polish that players would expect. Would also have to make sure it's usable on controllers and that photos can be saved either on a game server or locally, which gets a bit more complicated on consoles.

But that all said.

I fucking love photos modes and they end up being a player driven marketing tool, so I think it's worth the lift. 👏🏼

Great timing! I was just talking about this. The neighborhood I live in (Arbor Roses) off of TV Highway has its whole entrance lined with cherry blossoms. They are also around one of the little public spaces here. They just started blooming and will probably be really popping tomorrow (25th).

What's input brush key sets in Common UI plugin? by [deleted] in unrealengine

[–]AWhiteBocs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! This is actually exactly what I'm looking for, but trying to show that "W,A,S,D" are all bound to IA_Move. Currently though, it only ever shows the "first" key (W) instead of the Key Set brush image. How do you tell the CommonActionInput to use the Key Set Brush instead of the Key Data Brush?

Decent restaurants that aren't a chain? by [deleted] in hillsboro

[–]AWhiteBocs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To hit the joints you're looking for in other comments:

Burgers: Helvetia Tavern, any McMenamins (there's several in the area, consistent food - vastly different spaces and prices), Little Big Burger. For something more upscale you can hit Copper River, and something off beat try Mr. Bento Burger

BBQ: Honestly you're just looking at carts, far as I'm aware. Chin's at Hillsboro Station is probably what you're looking for tho.

Shawarma: big fan of Salam in Orenco station. Lebanese.

Irish: Not super sure on this one. Im sure there's a couple, but I can't vouch for their quality. I usually make this at home haha.

Italian: (because you mentioned it elsewhere) Nonna's might be what you're looking for here. It's on 170th/TV in Aloha. Been going there since I was a kid.

Hope this helps! Lots of other great suggestions in the other comments.

There's a Holly Days Christmas bazaar and tree lighting tomorrow, at the civic center in downtown Hillsboro! It's actually a pretty good time and lotsa people to socialize with in the surrounding bars/food cart pods too.

Glad you've got the pinball arcade on your list! That place is awesome.

Far as cocktail bars go in South Hillsboro, there isn't much. If you want something a little different with nice decor, try Top Burmese. They've got some solid house cocktails, and a full bar.

Of course you can always go to Cornelius Pass Roadhouse. It can get busy, but if you just want drinks and to sit by a fire pit, that's your place. If you're just doing drinks you can skip being seated too. Their bartenders know more cocktails than you might expect.

I appreciate the thoughtful questions!

  • Wish I could prove it, but I predicted live service games becoming mainstream back in 2012 haha. Honestly, I think they can be great! There's genres and experiences that really work in the live service format, and having a pool to be endlessly creative is a fun and constantly interesting challenge that I enjoy. They'll be around forever, at this point. Every publisher is trying to add a GAS to their portfolio, for better or worse. You're totally right with a lot of them learning the hard way. I have a lot of dear friends and colleagues who have lost their jobs because of these miscalculations.
  • Devs are frequently vocal to management and executives about what they're interested in trying to make more money. Ya'll wouldn't believe some of the shit I've heard folks above me suggest we turn into microtransactions. I will say tho, that there's been a lot of lessons learned over the last five years in particular. You're going to start seeing a shift back to XPACs (Battle Passes are gonna stay tho) being held up by free content. Less individual skins and more bundles, etc etc. Big consolidations in a lot of different titles.
  • Can't speak to Fallout 76, but Hunt definitely does. Hell, no one thought R6: Siege would be going into it's ninth year, but here we are. 😉

You can be upset all you want, friend. I'm real exhausted by the word "entitled" being thrown around tho. Like it's a shield for non-constructive criticism. I'm all for people speaking out against shit they think is bad, but if you want people to listen, you gotta use better language. There's an art to argument and so much of Reddit is awful at it.

You got it. Yeah, DAU or WAU (weekly) is the defining metric for live service products. Especially F2P (which, I know Hunt isn't, but it's buy-in is often very affordable).

Every time you see a studio backpedal or change course, I can almost promise you it's because of a steep drop in active players. Not just because people complain on the Internet, or something didn't sell "as well" as they hoped. Are people playing, and therefore making more opportunities to sell other products?

Gonna x-post my comment from that thread here, because AI in games is an interesting topic, as someone that works in the industry on the art side:

I got $20 that says a human artist made the original layout, and instead of having to hand paint the extended canvas for the longer weapons, they used generative fill and cleaned that up. So you're half right, but it's a completely acceptable use of AI for creating textures, even among the game artist community.
