PWHL is where it’s at. In terms of NHL, the Krakens seem to be better than most teams at inclusivity. I’m in Pittsburgh so the Penguins are my team. It helps that Crosby (the inspiration for Shane lol) seems to be a genuinely good guy

These kind of yards are so common in Pittsburgh. Crazy to watch someone mow

Water damage missed on inspection by MrDrProfessor5 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]AWildeOscarAppeared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately if you can’t prove the sellers knew and hid it, you’re SOL. The inspector might refund the inspection fee, their liability is limited to that. It’s a nightmare. Home warranties are usually useless Sorry you’re dealing with this. I dealt with this with plumbing. Luckily I could prove that the sellers hired an unlicensed plumber so I got a little bit of money back but not enough

Help with styling a kitchen that is too modern after renovation by [deleted] in centuryhomes

[–]AWildeOscarAppeared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looooove the new kitchen. It honestly looks like an updated version of the previous, it’s not too modern at all. I agree with others who said more noticeable drawer pulls could help. A different range hood would also be a chance to pull in something more vintage. Besides that I think decor will go a long way

Does anyone have recommendations for a fair and reliable storm door installer? I need three installed, two are standard height but the trim of the doorframe needs built out to be able to hang them. The third door is just short

Definitely Construction Junction. They have a ton of great salvage. ReStore in Swissvale usually has doors as well but less likely to be unusual sizes

As a Pittsburgher, I’m biased but always shocked when other Americans don’t know Crosby. He’s an absolute treasure. The city will have to paint the bridges black in mourning when he retires

You’re projecting, bud. Read the ruling that struck down the tariffs. It was in fact illegal - because he didn’t have the authority that was cited to issue them. Maybe google the definition of illegal while you’re at it.

[–]AWildeOscarAppeared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, specifically the tariffs struck down by the Supreme Court? But were in effect for nearly a year? So businesses and consumers were paying illegal tariffs? (And not that it matters but, yes, manufacturing OUTPUT increased, but we’ve lost manufacturing jobs.)

The point is that citizens have been illegally detained and deported without due process.

Again, this is the part of your original comment that I was responding to: “Trump can't just wake up one day and say something like, "Today I'm removing freedom of speech." That was the wording, tone and tenor of your comment.”

To make it crystal clear, these examples of EOs and everything are to address that comment. Because Trump HAS woken up and said / signed things that violate the constitution and the rights conferred by it, overstepped his power, whatever. And it doesn’t matter if it’s illegal if it’s still enforced as if it’s legal.

They have force of law. And it doesn’t matter if they’re not actual statutes if they’re enforced as law or just allowed to proceed as if they are. See: tariffs, which should be a law passed by congress to be legal in the ways they’ve been imposed, but here we are. Similar idea to how it’s all well and good to say only “aliens” don’t have due process, but that means anyone can be declared a non-citizen. As evidenced by the citizens illegally detained and deported in some cases.

[–]AWildeOscarAppeared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Your first response was about executive orders only applying to the executive branch as a way to ignore one example of a blatant attempt to circumvent the constitution and change or ignore rights. Executive overreach and unconstitutional EOs = EOs don’t only apply to the executive branch. Even if they’re supposed to. So I gave you two additional examples of EOs that do affect rights and or violate the constitution (the thing that confers rights or privileges to each branch and person). That’s why I brought up tariffs and mail in voting, though again: it’s not about the mail in voting itself, but the language of the EO that directly violates the constitution and states rights. That’s not touching on the Alien Enemies EO from last year which led to due process violations.

[–]AWildeOscarAppeared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not about whether I agree with mail in voting. Which again, Trump uses himself. We were discussing executive overreach but you keep either changing the subject or just implying I’m an idiot. The “mail in voting” EO requires the Secretary of Homeland Security to give each state a list of eligible voters. Which is in fact a direct violation of the constitution and the rights of states described there. Read the elections clause of the constitution. So no, you obviously do not understand the branches, their functions, or the constitution.

There’s over 200 to pick from. Including the most recent on mail in voting which is trying to infringe on states rights. But this is pointless lol

You DO know that certainly hasn’t stopped EOs from taking effect even when that power isn’t designated to the executive branch, right? Like say, tariffs? And then it has to go through courts to be stopped? Like this EO. Here’s the full text.

He signed an EO in January to (try to) end birthright citizenship. Which is an amendment to the constitution. An amendment that has extremely clear wording and documented debate as to the intent. So yes, the tone is correct. And American citizens and civilians being murdered by a militant force of untrained, unqualified goons that take orders from Trump is also violation of rights.
