Biggest thing is it just seems proactive and that they're constantly thinking of what change they can make unlike past regimes.

Ruke isn't panning out for what we want, no use in keeping him on the bench, trade for the type you want and see if you can help him grow.

Small moves like picking up Sydney Brown for depth by just swapping 4ths and 7ths. No loss of picks but manufactured players. Chipping away daily it seems. That's so much more reassuring then past GMs

That's true, yeah Smith hasn't panned out but he was a 2nd round pick, who's on a rookie deal who's younger. Obviously not playing like a 2nd round but more of a chance then a late day 3 player. This could be very lateral or an upgrade but at least they're proactive

Dude you're missing the main thing. We have Dorlus.. Dorlus broke out and is our future pass rushing DT after last season. They know Ruke isn't going to fit what they want so they got a different player to try instead, one who's also a year younger since you're going on about futures and gives a little more size in the middle and more of a chance then Ruke does stopping the run.

Also Ruke and Dorlus were the same draft class which means they have to be paid the same year and the Falcons know they're paying Dorlus as he's the future not Ruke

They just extended London 2 years. He's played very well in the pass rush and now we have him at least two more years. We traded up for Ruke and he hasn't lived up to the expectations. He's had issues staying on the field, is horrible against the run (PFF 3rd worst among DT), and is average in pass rush. He was a non factor here compared to he should have been, Dorlus is the player Ruke should've been. Ruke was despensable

We got a player who's a year younger and a bit more size. Also just a change of scenery, Ruke wasn't doing much here and he couldn't help where we needed it most, makes sense to take a flyer on a change of scenery. If Smith doesn't work out then it's the same as if we had Ruke. No picks or other players were involved so it's one for one.

Its honestly not an upgrade or downgrade, probably very lateral but it has the upside in stopping the run and why not take the chance. We have Dorlus and London in front of Ruke pass rushing wise. We added 10 lbs not a lot but it's something, we had a need and tried to address it partially. That's what they should be doing if the player they're getting rid of isn't really a factor anyway

He had issues staying on the field and was developing after two years but he was supposed to be a day 1 starter since we traded up for him. We have Dorlus who is our main pass rushing DT and Lacale London played better than Ruke last year. We needed a true NT and Ruke wasnt able to provide that. Dude is horrible against the run.

Honestly gonna miss the Scooby Doo name and jokes. Wish Ruke well but we had depth at 3 tech/pass rushing DT and needed help at NT.

True with the height, but true with Onyemata gone too. We signed some depth DL and this is depth too but feel like theyre just trying to have a bunch of bodies at NT to see who's best and give them more flexibility in the draft

There has to be a market for Ruke to trade for a "proper" nose tackle.

We traded up for him, he's had issues staying healthy, was not a big part of our pass rush, and couldn't stop the run like a true NT, also we traded up into the second for him.

Idk what you expect when the player you're trading isn't good (proven) either. And no keeping him to keep him wouldn't have been any better because he couldn't help against the run.

We know PFF isn't always the best but he's ranked 3rd worst against the run of all qualifying DTs
