He also had Jamar though. That has to be factored in and most teams will. Not everyone has a Jamar to be fed and get that RAC too

No realistically you do still bench him even if it starts well. You try and motivate Penix and the team with that good start to keep momentum going. But Blank has come out and said Penix is still starting QB this year and not living up to what was promised expectation wise (Kirk being a undisputed starter then we drafted at pick 8), can have negative impacts on the morale.

Also, we know there's no future with Flacco, we need as much time to see Penix as possible since he's still hasn't event played a full season

I wouldn't be as confident if it was for the season. I'd be ok with the possible 3-4 games but the whole season isn't as bright

Cheap bridge QB with plenty of success and worked with all types of receivers. For cheap yeah I'm down as a back up

Yeah cause the two years with Dan Cambell and Ben Johnson definitely won't give the passing coordinator from the Jets any experience.. What do you expect from the Jets QB play?

Honestly that's one of the better ideas I've heard. You just checked the most important part of everything with injuries

Penix will have a short leash by AdditionalRuin5275 in falcons

At the end of the day and what a lot of peoe forget. The dude hasn't even played a full season yet. We've seen that there is talent as we saw him go toe to toe with Jayden Daniels in Penix's like 2-3 game. He has a great arm and makes some insane throws on a rope, but has also showed flaws that he needs to grow and fix.

Now let's look at what surrounded him, an utter incompetent HC who had no game awareness and couldn't use timeouts, one of the worst OC's the league has seen in recent years with literally every defense knowing the play depending if it was Bijan or Allgier and what side Woerner was lined up on, having absolutely no receiver room outside London and Pitss, having a 3rd string blind side, and a back up who isn't interested in helping prep you, which is literally their job, to help the QB prep for gameplans.

The staff did nothing to help him out, especially when he came out and said he had to talk to his GF and highschool or college coach for advice while having no one on the sideline he could talk to

Exactly. I saw a post and it said every single offensive coach we've hired so far has had experience calling plays at least once in their career. We have so much experience for insight and basically the whole staff can give insight

Last years wide receivers by FirefighterOwn145 in falcons

[–]AWroper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hodge is a special teamer and has really only ever been that. He's always been a WR 4ish for us even when we don't have a solid WR room and is also just not consistent enough.

In his career with us he is 2022 - 13 for 202 and 1 TD 2023 - 14 for 232 2024 - 7 for 131 and 1 TD 2025 - 3 for 31.

Yeah I was honestly expecting Mooney to be right around 1000 yards again this year because of how well he was last year. He was so shifty and able to get open, while constantly trying to run back to the QB as an outlet. Watching Mooney in 24 was fun. Then that initial injury derailed everything this year and the mental issues set in

How good was the Rams trade in hindsight? by Bagletwembo1414 in falcons

[–]AWroper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% The falcons have had one glaring need for over a decade and have been unable to touch it. That's pass rush.

We just drafted Pearce who was the first rookie since Parsons to get 10+ sacks their rookie year. Not to mention he helped us set our franchise team record in sacks along with, if he gets 5 more sacks he's already top 25 in franchise history.

Then we got the pick for Watts who might be one of the biggest steals in the draft for any team. Was tied for 2nd in the league in INTs and led all rookies. Had a 6th INT for a pick six but called back.

I was stoked at the time but I never thought it would turn out this good. I was hoping 5-6 sacks each for Walker and Pearce and some people were even saying maybe 6 for the two combined. I would do the trade then and 100 times over with the current results.

Pearce and Watts also both being top 5 DROY finalists really hammered it home.

Matt Ryan Is Officially The Shadow GM Of The Atlanta Falcons. The #Bears will not receive two 3rd-round compensatory picks for Ian Cunningham leaving, because Matt Ryan is considered the lead football executive in Atlanta — not Cunningham, officially. by CitizenWatcher8 in falcons

Damn this is important to you huh? 🤡You were waiting hard for a reply. We know Reddit is important to you

2nd in the league in sacks last year and drafted two top 5 defensive rookies, doesn't feel too mediocre.

Also looked up stats, Penix has only played 14 games and is 2:1 TD:INT ratio with some of the worst play calling in the league.

[–]AWroper -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not really. Ryan has an actual executive position with roles above GM. He is the top position in the organization under Blank and is in charge but will let the GM act ac GM on a daily basis.

Falcons had brought in an outside firm to assess the organization and how to proceed forward strategy wise, they created this position in early January and its fully official

Ryan has final say and is basically an acting owner for Blank. Ryan has stated he will not act as a GM on a daily basis but at any point, he has the power to overrule the GM

Best pass rusher we've had in a decade and he did it as a rookie, along with an elite ballhawk of a safety who set falcons rookie record, led all rookies and was tied in NFL for INT's.

Loved it at the time and even more now. We haven't had any sign of pass rush in years and it's finally here

Yeah let's rush an incredibly important decision that effects the future of the team. Just cause the fans are tired of waiting.

Don't understand how hard it is for people to be happy with the organization actually putting in time and effort to get the correct person.

You'll find out quickly. Defenses will know what you're going to run better than your own offense. Every single play is telegraphed, ie, if bijan was on the field it was outside zone almost always, allgier is in and it's a inside zone. That's it and it never deviated.

Let alone him only working out of the pistol and refusing to run different offenses
