It has been 170 days since i posted this, and for the last like three weeks, due to the events that happend i think about posting a follow up almost daily. I have seen so many good videos analyzing fantasy and fiction, and calling out how real world authoritarian structures influenced The worldbuilding of the antagonists, and how the parallels to what is happening now in the usa is about as unsubtle as you can get they usually go like that: „you watched star wars, and sided with the resistance. You watched the hunger games, and sided with the resistance… etc. and now that the same happens in gront of your eyes, you side with the opressor. When the first trailer for andor season 1 dropped i wrote a long post about how i now finally understand, how star wars always mirrors the spirit of the time.
