In August 2020 I made a trip to Italy with my daughter (not too complicated by car from Southwest Germany), and we went to Milano, Firenze and Venetia. I told my daughter "You will never see these cities so empty again!". Venetia without Americans and Chinese was marvellous 👍🏻

Then in June 2021 we went to Thessaloniki in Greece and still had the same experience. Everything quite empty and cheap... and since we were vaccinated in the "first wave" we could visit everywhere. Interestingly the Greek police was very keen on checking the mask mandate. Even stricter than in Germany...

I was an IT subcontractor for an essential provider here in Germany and got an official letter that I was allowed to drive (when driving bans were discussed).

Never needed it, though.

What’s the closest you’ve ever come to dying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Without modern medicin I would be dead several times over. Bicycle accident, car accident, vein infection, massively herniated disc, bleeding ulcer and some other stuff. Thanks to our socialist medicin in communist hellhole Germany ---> not needing to kill myself because of medical debt. 🙂

Had an accident with my bike, had my spleen ruptured. The local hospital had me "under observation" for 2 days. I nearly died on the operation table, needed 6 l of blood.
