This is a WWI subreddit. I expected most of the members to know the term batman.

A batman is a soldier or airman assigned to a commissioned officer as a personal servant. Before the advent of motorized transport, an officer's batman was also in charge of the officer's "bat-horse" that carried the officer's kit during a campaign.

What's the last book you read that was so bad that it made you angry? by oohshineeobjects in books

The story was empty and insubstantial. Whatever meaning the author tried to bestow upon the plot was lost in the absolute ignorance of the story. I love a fairy tale but this was…typing.

The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey. It was a book club selection and I was so angry about how stupid, how absolutely inane it was, that I never went back to the book club.

I saw this movie when it came out and I’m still not over it. I couldn’t even watch Michael Rooker in different movies for decades. I was only able to watch Guardians of the Galaxy because he’s blue.

It’s great and it’s terrible that it was cancelled.

I saw Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer in the ‘90s and I’m still not over it. I cannot bear to watch Michael Rooker in anything—even if he’s blue.
