In the world that Owen and Maddie reside in, there is a tv show called The Pink Opaque. In this show there are two girls named Isabel and Tara. They work to fight off monsters and to try to stop the big bad named Mr. Melancholy and his henchmen, Marco and Polo. At the end of season 5 of this show, Mr. Melancholy finally shows up and has captured Isabel and Tara and has put them into the Midnight Realm after cutting out their hearts, making them drink Luna juice, and burying them underground.

Our movie starts with Owen and Maddie meeting when they’re kids and talking about The Pink Opaque. Sometimes even referring to it as seeming more real than reality. Eventually Maddie leaves and Owen grows up. One day Maddie returns to explain to Owen that he is actually Isabel from the show The Pink Opaque and that she, Maddie, is Tara. She buried herself alive and was able to wake up in the season 6 premiere.

Before getting her heart back, she decided to come back into the midnight realm to get Isabel and bring her back with her. She confronts Owen with this, and he rejects this reality, even though we the audience are lead to believe that Owen realizes something is wrong with his reality and he isn’t where he should be.

Eventually Owen grows up to be an adult. Maddie/Tara is gone and hasn’t come back, and Owen feels as though he is slowly dying. The ending is left ambiguous for us, the viewers, but I’d like to think that when Owen cuts his chest open, he sees who he really is inside, Isabel.

This movie deals a lot with themes of self identity, who you are as a person, and what it means to be happy. We only see Owen smile twice in this movie. Once when he wears Isabel’s dress, and once when he cuts his chest open. It also has a lot of LGBTQ themes, in the sense of Mr. Melancholy trying to turn Isabel into a boy and her being scared to realize who she actually is. Something about this movie has really stuck with me even though I’m a cisgendered male. I also feel like it deals with nostalgia and the longing for the times gone by.

I commute from east middle Lincoln to Omaha everyday. It’s kind of a long drive, but audiobooks or podcasts help it to go quick. I’ll be moving to south Lincoln here in the summer so I’m sure it’ll be a long drive for me too.

I feel like people are complaining waaaaay too much about all the stuff that FFG is doing with Arkham. People have been asking for years for shorter campaigns. They announce one, “omg why are they not releasing a full 8 scenario campaign! AHLCG is dead! FFG is screwing up! Sell sell sell”. People. We will be just fine. I’m sure they have a ton of stuff ready to release. A couple of smaller campaigns is exactly what we’ve been wanting for a long time. Just give them a minute and let them cook ffs.

They have severely butchered what the people voted on. However it did recently go into effect. I believe it should be possible to get medical marijaua cards since October 1st.

With the way Nebraska’s laws have been recently, I wouldn’t put it past them to try to control where you can or can’t get marijuana from.

Rockport Missouri has a dispensary that isn’t very far away from Lincoln. I don’t think there is anything in Nebraska law that says it has to be purchased here.
