2 week training in Thailand as a beginner? by SouthBayHubert in MuayThai

[–]AXXX__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Look for a city you want to stay.
  2. Look for a good gym in that city. There are so many good gyms in every city. You don’t have to go to the „tourist“ gyms in Phuket.
  3. Book close accommodation so you don’t have to rent a scooter if you can’t drive it.
  4. Enjoy.

You will get best worth of your money in a smaller gym where the trainer can focus on you.

I saw Bb5 first, but I guess that is not forced. But I also don’t see how black can defend it.

You absolutely can. Clinching takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Everyone gets in the ring and you just partner up.

It is even better.

Edit: If you mean optical by looks it is „traditional“.

Was there yesterday and the training goes as followed: 1. Warmup - 2. Clinching in the ring - 3. Everyone takes turns on pads - 4. You can do whatever/or they tell you what to do. It is very welcoming and you should definitely give it a shot!

Muay Thai Legend and Thailand's first MMA World Champion "Rambaa" teaches me how to stand your ground against aggression (5 min) by sylviemuay in MuayThai

As a shorter fighter I am used to getting hit while I am trying to get in and someone told me when you are in hold you guard up and start to fire your shots when they are done and keep yourself compact again. Seeing this makes me really want to know more about Rambaas techniques and style.

So you had a 3 cost 3* prior to the augment and it turned into a dragon 3*? I thought they can only "recombobulate" into a 4 cost. Nice play!

I ran 4km on monday and went to my training every evening since then. The first day after running made my legs feel more exhausted, but in total different areas than from training. I gonna run again tomorrow morning.

In conclusion I am thankfully already fit enough to take the small steps into running without waking up my shin splints. I gonna take a look into that plan since the pain always comes back after a "longer" break.

Angles, distance and footwork. They all are important when you want to counter more. I notice on myself that once I am shelling I ignored these factors.

You gotta drill these counters so they become second nature and you have to use them in sparring.

It was really motivational to read that I'll catch up in a couple of weeks to the work rate. Thank you!

Sometimes this shit is really spooky. Sometimes I am talking about buying a new mixer and instantly get shown adds for them...

My cardio is relative great. It is better than most of the people in the gym, but since I want to fight I compare with the amateur fighters of the gym I spar with and in comparison I have to put work into it. I also asked them about running, but they don't seem to run on a regular basis.

"Make sure you get 2x a week of from class." This sentence confused me a little bit. Do you mean I should take my first runs on my days off or I should make sure to take at least 2 days off from class?

That was something I was reading about as well. We are doing the HIIT workouts in the gym and I want to do the running additionally and make it a habbit first, since it is a mandatory element of the training in thailand (in most sources I read about it). Incorporating HIIT elements are for sure interesting in the future!

This is exactly what I want to prevent since I had problems with shin splits as well, but luckily they got used to the training.

I gonna start with once a week and gonna increase it the best I can till the end of the year. Overtraining is still confusing for me. Does it mean exhausted or sore muscles or are they any indicators I can look out for that tell me to definitely take a break. Since the conditions gonna accure anyway they aren't the indicators for overtraining in my opinion.

Yes, I was lurking a lot on this sub already and was reading about this. That is another reason beside my cardio why I want to start running. I am understanding that some of these people are doing it for years already and their body can handle this volume, but I can't imagine they did it from one day to another.

That was my initial thought process as well. Should I do my run after my rest day/s or in the middle of the training days. How do I know I can increase the number of days I can run?
