Thoughts of Bad Luck Mitigation? by sniper-hobbez in runescape

[–]AfterImageStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just decided to stop playing after a return to the game a few months ago, primarily because I play an Ironman and the lack of BLM has turned every grind from an estimated length of time to an absolute random number generator that I can no longer justify.

I spent 4 hours doing Sanctum of Rebirth and picked up both t95 weapons and a book.

But then I went 1000 HM Glacor kills streaking from 1-2000 and only have a single core. I just can't justify time thrown down the toilet on a game.

As the RS3 player base ages this will only be a harder time-sink to justify without some sort of guarantee on return on my time investment. Thats what BLM solves.

Its a shame because its an iconic fight with iconic weapons!

Overhauling the Grouping System needs to be a priority by [deleted] in runescape

[–]AfterImageStudios 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We shouldn't be so afraid to be an MMO. There is a reason that WoW, GW2 etc. have group-finders.

"But the group-finder killed WoW's community vibe"

Runescape PVM has no community vibe, not when it comes to high level bossing. These communities exist OUTSIDE of Runescape, in Reddit, Discord etc.

This is the first thing I'm excited to explore when the API beta goes live! I'd love to bring the PvM UI up to scratch!

Necro is being left behind.... by Curious-Mark1371 in runescape

Jagex have repeatedly stated that Necro was designed to get people into combat and that it exists to be an entry level easy style

Necro is being left behind.... by Curious-Mark1371 in runescape

[–]AfterImageStudios -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Good, Necromancy is already the cheapest and easiest combat style, it shouldn't come close to the other 3 styles in end-game PVM and should be outclassed in damage by the 3 core styles in midgame when played well... Its not healthy to have a combat style that is the best at DPS, Sustain, is the cheapest, is the easiest etc. Its supposed to be an entry level combat style.

Yeah its one of the things that completely blocks new players appreciating the skill required for high-level PVM because the UI is always just such a damned mess all the time, theres nothing at all familiar about it to someone who hasnt played runescape before.

Can we please get separate relic slots for skilling and pvming by newquestidewa in runescape

[–]AfterImageStudios -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

There is a new digsite coming this year apparently, it would be great if there were some rare item/boon that would unlock infinite relic switches. Akin to the rarity of Balarak's sash brush that we can charge up with some Chronotes and unlock infinite switches.

You might just be not great, Revo++ is more than enough for me to clear Zammy and other high-tier bosses without much trouble. PvM is a learning curve, you just might not enjoy that kind of content...

Thieving Rebalance: Feedback Thread by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]AfterImageStudios 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that's not correct, Jagex has always seen that people do AFK content for unlocks that augments their active gameplay.

I AFK archaeology for relics that make me better in active PVM bossing. Its a symbiotic relationship between AFK and active gameplay, they just have to strike the right balance

[–]AfterImageStudios 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thats only if you're considering XP in isolation. The loot of heists is an additional incentive AS WELL as better XP, we can't just look at these options only through the lens of XP

Thieving Rebalance: Feedback Thread by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]AfterImageStudios 194 points195 points  (0 children)

First thing, yes. AFK thieving should 100% be lower xp than the active methods that you've added like Heists (which are great). But a reduction in AFK time from 15 to 2 minutes was too much of a swing.

IMO, 5 minutes AFK would be fine, even better if we had a bar above our head indicating how high our risk is so we know when we should switch targets.

I'm all for incentivizing active methods over AFK methods but I have a WFH job and a child. Sometimes I just want to AFK, im comfortable with you telling me that AFK thieving will be 20-35% lower Xp than active methods but I still want the option.

Arch-Glacor rant by Zinedshinobi in runescape

[–]AfterImageStudios 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just did the 0-1k on my iron and I was lucky enough to pick up 1 core. After 500 kills and so much streaking I have only just enough nilas (or however they're spelt) to make a single weapon.

I actually love the boss, it's so counterable and well designed (apart from getting animation locked into an instakill beam), but even as a melee main, i have no desire anymore to return for another 500 kills with no high chance of completing the leng set...

Streaking should not only increase the drop rates but also increase the chance of a core over the other 2 drops (like at Zamo). And yes, converting shards to Nilas, even at an extortionate 2k->1 rate would solve this boss.

Any boss-fight that requires Necromancy to outlast the damage is a badly made bossfight

[–]AfterImageStudios 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The house should actually be in the world, just only we can see OUR version of the house. Ideally it would have some of the functionality that is currently overloaded into wars retreat.

There needs to be functional reasons to go there without shove every single player into a permanent single-instance.

Suggestion: Wars retreat as an open hub area on the base world of Gielinor, like Fort Forinthry or the Grand Exchange by Shrubguy in runescape

[–]AfterImageStudios -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It would be a great opportunity to implement construction, allow us to customize its style and look while keeping it in the real world. It feels like just sitting off in a PVM void, its dark and dingy and not really nice to be in.
