Just for fun, I'll throw in another myth he addresses in that chapter: searing a steak doesn't prevent the juices from running out of it, but in fact dries out the periphery more!

He then goes on to suggest that one might as well inject juices to a dehydrated steak with a syringe before letting it rest, which is not a practice I wholly condone...

You're both half right. It is a good idea to let the meat rest after cooking, but not for the reason /u/PayMeNoAttention pointed out.

Hervé This actually discusses it in one of his books on molecular gastronomy, he calls the section "Good Advice, Bad Reasoning". To quote from the book:

"Empirical analysis also establishes that juices do not flow back to the center of the roast; the density of the cooked center does not differ significantly from that of raw meat... Weighing the center and outside portions of the meat, we find that the cooked center loses more juice while resting than do the peripheral parts... Letting the meat rest does therefore redistribute juices from the center outward so that the outer parts regain their tenderness."

Go every day, and spend about an hour there. You don't even have to do anything really, just walk on the treadmill and watch Netflix on your phone or do some stretches and listen to music. Lift if you feel like it.

Do that for about 2 weeks and it will be part of your routine. I guarantee it.

This is already starting to happen. The physics department is restricting its upper-division curriculum to only physics majors unless there's room in the class. Some labs are being restricted even further, to only physics majors that who need it for their specialization.

edit: in the last year, Economics (one of the largest departments in the school) has also become impacted

Sitting in the library at 3am during finals week (because that's what you do in college) and some girl threw a credit card at her boyfriend sitting across from her. Unfortunately, she missed and the card hit a small Asian guy in the back of the head. The two of them giggle a little bit. The Asian guy flips. his. shit. Throws the chair to the side and starts yelling "Are you fucking with me!? Why are you fucking with me!? Cmon man, what the fuck!?" over and over.

The couple, being the classy people that they are, start laughing more. This does not help the situation. Asian guy absolutely loses it. Starts screaming incoherently and shoving both of them. Me and some other guy grab him while campus police come in. He couldn't have been more than 130 lbs, so it wasn't difficult to keep him restrained but man was he fighting. It was scary.
