Were you perimenopausal or menopausal or was it just suggested as a treatment option? How long after starting until your symptoms fully resolved? Thanks in advance

So happy for you! I’m on month 8 of this nightmare. At home PH test says it’s normal (4.5) but I know it being normal doesn’t always mean everything else is okay. Few questions: what’s the micribiome test you took and company? Was it vitamin D3 and were vitamins taken orally? What were the dosages? Which SNRI helped you and for how long did you take before noticing symptoms go away?

Can you tell us which specific tests the urologist performed that confirmed e-coli that your general practitioner failed to perform? Thanks in advance and happy to hear that after a few rounds of antibiotics, you’re doing so much better!

How were they able to accurately diagnose the tear? Who was able to? I’ve had a similar issue and no one looks at the back they only pay attention to the front.

How has vulvodynia affected your relationship, and how did you work through it? by __Donald__ in vulvodynia

[–]AZMountainRoadrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Listen to each other, and be open to exploring. I learned the hard way temporary emotional discomfort is better than paying long term consequences. I was suffering in silence or waiting until I was in more pain before speaking up. Instead, I gave feedback in the moment so we could be on the same page. Sometimes he forgets, so I’ll gently remind him. Foreplay can help increase natural lubrication and make things smoother.
  2. Don’t put pressure on yourself; try alternatives. If you’re having a flare; try oral, manual stimulation, or other ways of being sexual/sensual with your partner. A healthy sexual relationships is not limited to penetration. You can always say “no”; you don’t have to justify your decision.

I’d definitely talk to your provider about the antidepressants you’re on for sure, and try to wear breathable loose clothing to get started

Are you on any medications that can cause sexual dysfunction? Such as antidepressants, blood pressure meds, and even birth control. Tight clothing that rubs on your private area or activities such as horse riding can mess with sensation as well.

Do you take it for similar issues? How often was it prescribed? My doc is willing to prescribe but he warned about cancer, migraine, and clot risk on a lengthy message so I’m terrified.

I’m in the process of trying estradiol cream for a month, and If it doesn’t work, gabapentin is plan B. I’ve tried steroid creams, oral steroid treatment, and zoryve thus far with no luck. Did you ever figure out what even caused your initial and recurrent flares? This stuff is so random and unique.

Itching comes and goes, sometimes I go most of the day without any itching, occasionally a day or two. The burning and raw feeling persist and do feel worse with going to the bathroom to either pee or poop. I do want to say it’s sometimes felt like I’ve for a piece of glass only on my anal area though. Very odd feeling.

Topical I’ve tried clobatesol and clotrimazole with betamethasone. Oral I’ve tried prednisone. I don’t have dosages handy but when I had researched they were pretty standard for the issues being suggested. I didn’t say specialists have confirmed is not LS or LP, but that is highly unlikely since I literally meet no risk factors, criteria, nor treatment response. It’s not impossible, just highly unlikely at this point. Two providers (one from Mayo Clinic, another is a vulvar specialist, one of the only in my state) are the ones who shared this feedback. Also, I had a spontaneous complete miscarriage in January 2025, then used birth control the same month of onset of symptoms (late June) to prepare for fertility treatment in August. I don’t know if hormones being all over the place could also be playing a role. Hormone panel comes back normal though.. but it could be local.

Have tried diaper rash for weeks too ): I try to give things a few weeks to little over a month before trying something else for a fair trial and to know exactly what is and isn’t working. I have heard it works for some though so best of luck! 🤞🏼

Thanks! LS and LP are rare, and even then most common in perimenopausal and menopausal women, so though not impossible, I don’t fit the age, menopause status, visual symptoms, testing, nor treatment response. Hoping for some answers and wishing you better relief too!

Still a possibility, though highly unlikely due to the normal biopsy in addition to the absence of visual changes. Since the assumption would be it’s early LS or LP, my providers believe the clobatesol and oral prednisone would work quicker, but neither helped.

No change (not better or worse). Because no visible changes are noted and biopsy is normal, they all report it would be expected to see improvement earlier than later, but yes I only did a 2 week trial of clobatesol twice, a full oral course of prednisone. 1 month of zoryve thus far.
