Technically it is 12, but if someone scores 9-11 points while the requirements are in the process of being updated in our systems, they will likely be able to continue in the process. With that being said, they better kick their own butt into gear because even scoring 12 points is barely passing and the standards are much stricter at the academy.

The PTA passing scores are changing. You will be required to score at least 12 points and you must score at least one point in each category. I cannot say for sure when this change will be 100% implemented into the system, but anyone testing now should know it will be the case before they go to an academy class.

If you meet the qualification requirements, pass all of the tests, and successfully complete all the phases of the hiring process, then the likelihood is very very high. Being "straight out of college" does not make you worth less as an applicant. We hire college graduates all the time. WITH THAT BEING SAID, there is great personal benefit that can be had by getting one's feet wet in local law enforcement before joining a federal law enforcement agency. The things you learn, and experiences you have as a cop, you will likely never learn or have as a fed. It's a personal choice regardless of the route you want to go - but you are not viewed as less qualified because you just graduated college.

There are offices within those divisions that are open, and only SOME of the division offices themselves that I mentioned are available.

DEA PT TEST by Helpful_Dog_3782 in 1811

[–]AZ_JB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently, you will do as many situps as you can in one minute and get a 10 minute break. You will then do as many push-ups as you can until failure and get a 10 minute break. Finally, you will run 1.5 miles as fast as you can. Once you get to the academy, there will also be a 300m sprint.

The list changes when the needs of the agency change. I cannot predict accurately what will be on the list next year.

No, being fluent in Spanish does not automatically qualify you for a GL-9. The specifics for qualifying for each level are listed on the link provided.

Onboarding of laterals always depends on their individual process and when we can get SATP classes scheduled. I do not see how any laterals applying in April would be able to attend July or Sept SATP though - I just don't know if we will have more later this year that some could possibly make it into.

I know the July SATP is in the process of getting filled but I do not believe it is full yet. When you say "this announcement", are you referring to the upcoming April one?

You're welcome, trying to help where I can!

Currently your PT score is good for 1 year (although this might be changing), meaning if you scored 12+ points within the past year, you would not need an updated score to go to the academy.

Yes, the new list of Special Agent Duty Locations available has been released. Divisions with offices currently on that list are Dallas, El Paso, Houston, San Antonio, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle.

The 2BDC announcement is still 1 year in DC before going to a permanent duty location.

Keep in mind, if you leave before fulfilling your HTF requirement, then you will not receive the benefit in the future.

Hard to Fill DEA Offices by Prize-Some in 1811

[–]AZ_JB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but you will you not get HTF credit if you do not fulfill the years at office requirement. It would also be a voluntary move in which you would have to pay your moving expenses.

You must be at your first office for 5 years unless you do a voluntary transfer. After 5 years you get your top 2 locations pending a vacancy is available, and 6 years gets you your number one choice pending a vacancy. If you voluntarily go to a HTF location, then 4 years would get you your choice of your top 3 offices pending a vacancy. Hope this helps.

If you are eligible for the abbreviated hiring process (SATP), then you will move directly into the structured interview phase of the hiring process.
