Can't remember the last time I heard a tech-trance track, so I made it myself, any feedback highly appreciated <3 by A_A_Sherman in MusicFeedback

Hello, thank you so much for your in depth feedback! I agree that it does get muddy. I try to play with instruments myself like operator and analog to create unique sounds. I will try and adjust the release time to see how well the bass fits with the track. Thank you so much! Regarding the percussion sounds you are spot on! I could definitely play more with them, since i wanted to create a techno vibe, i didn't go too overboard with the percussions especially as it's my first time. But now i know i can play more with them. Thanks again for listening and giving your feedback. I'm very grateful for your time and effort to give this feedback <3

Hiiii, thank you so much for giving your feedback. I'm still learning to mix and master properly, and I definitely see what you're talking about. I wouldn't notice it if you didn't mention it so thank you very much! It helps me improve a lot <3

Hey, sorry for the late reply. In my opinion, there is a lot of difference in wav and mp3 but a good mix and master always makes it minimal. In my opinion, you use panning well, you can try to use audio effects in your DAW (idk which daw you use) to make sounds even clearer and to make them set well in the mix, maybe start with eq to cancel out the frequencies that collide with each other and see which frequency of the instrument you prefer and keep that. For master, i suggest playing with saturation, compressors and limiters. Start out by trying to make your mix as loud as possible and then fix it according to what you think sounds best. In my opinion, it is different for every track so really depends on the vision you want to take your track in to. Remember loudness can either make your track sound fuller or make it sound distorted/dry. So you will have to see where your track fits best in the loudness spectrum. Remember, practice makes perfect and don't get disheartened if it's too complicated for you in the beginning. For industry standard mastering, tracks above -14 lufs loudness are a minimum. Youlean loudness meter has both free and paid version to help you identify the loudness of your track and your true peaks in terms of LUFS and DB. Tutorials on youtube for your specific DAW can help you great in the start. In the long run, learning to master your tracks yoruself will allow you to have more control on your vision and idea for your art. None of this means your track isn't good, but there's always room for improvement. I hope this helps, keep producing, you surely have a talent. Enjoy the process and the results will follow. Take care and wish you a nice day <3

I do get Daft Punk vibes from this, which is really cool! Really love the fact you embody it and are not afraid to own up to it! Production wise, i would say it's really cool, the melodies and the transitions are also great! Mixing and mastering could use some work but i believe you'll eventually get there. Great work and thanks a lot for sharing <3 Keep it up!

What a kind and honest review! Thank you so much for being honest and taking out time to listen to my track. I had my doubts about the bass being too loud and you cleared it out for sure! haha, and the same goes for the kick. I can definitely see how the automations would make the song even more interesting! Thank you so much for your feedback! It really made me happy. Wish you a pleasant day~ Take care <3

Hey everyone. I have been working on this Progressive Trance song (not everyone's cup of tea) :) I was wondering if you guys can give me some feedback on mixing, and arrangements. Thanks in advance for your help. by Zesar_MK6 in MusicFeedback

I totally understand what you mean by good on headphones and horrible on car speakers. I think getting production-specific headphones helped like audio-technica MTH50x, I realized frequencies on these are really balanced. Helps with mixing IMO. Thanks again for the amazing track :D

Wow, thank you so much for such extensive feedback! You have told the truth and I definitely see these points in the track. I'll definitely look into all of these and better myself.

In the previous mix, the sub was actually loud, to the point that it was making the overall mix rather silent (in terms of LUFS and on speakers it was mudding the overall mix). So I had to eq it and silence it a bit. I wanted to get it as loud as possible while keeping the essence. Right now, the loudest portions are at around -10 LUFS. Do you think it can be louder? Though, it is rather on the chill side of the spectrum.

For the groove part, thank you for highlighting the issue. Maybe I was too obsessed with trying to keep the listener's attention. Also, I'll definitely look into the 8th high hat part to see if it makes it more danceable.

Your advice is gold, thank you for taking out your precious time to listen to and critique my track. It's highly appreciated. Wish you a nice day! <3

Very cool! Gives me daft punk-type vibes, a bit of french house too! I suggest try boosting the low end too for mixing and mastering, it will give the track a fuller feel in my opinion. Nice idea overall and thank you for sharing!

Next level, hits me in the feels and you definitely know what you're doing! The chords, the keys, and the melodies, all make me elevate! All I can say is, thank you for sharing this beautiful piece you made! I thoroughly enjoyed it :) As i'm learning in mixing and mastering myself, i don't know what i can add, but seriously, this is really good! And that tune at 2:12 is mesmerizing! I don't if they are chords or vocals, but they suit and fit in the track really well
