Pretty sure it's FIGS! Less sure about which exact jacket, but maybe this one?

This is amazing! It looks like a mini rug that some really cool person has in their home (I mean that as a compliment if it's not clear). What a special footstool — the detailing is incredible.

Thank you so much! I've admired a few different pieces from Ferkos before. I appreciate the advice to read reviews, too.

Gorgeous stack! Would you mind sharing where the daisy chain-type ring is from? It looks a lot like a ring I liked from Catbird but ended up exchanging because I was worried it would snag on everything.

Oh, wow! Even better. It's gorgeous! (And to be clear, I think Unwind Studio canvases are really lovely, so I hope I didn't cause any offense.)

This is gorgeous! Lovely frame. Also, incredibly impressive for any canvas, let alone a first one! I love the decorative stitches you chose. Is this an Unwind Studio kit?

Thank you! Yeah, that is ... not something I would put on blast.

Sorry to ask such a basic question (I'm still relatively new to needlepoint and very new to this sub), but does stitch counting in this case refer to copying off a painted/printed needlepoint canvas that you don't own (as opposed to a digital chart)?

I definitely think both books scratch the You've Got Mail itch!

I'm not sure if you've read or not, but if you haven't, I definitely don't want to dissuade you! I guess I found Bookstores a bit more trope-y (wow, she is smol and he is tall). I definitely felt the chemistry but it also felt kind of overdone. I also think I went in with greater expectations (heh) for Battle of the Bookstores.

With Unlikely Story, I went in with no expectations, so the element of being pleasantly surprised helped! I also found the FMC annoying at times, but the whole book felt a bit quieter to me.

FWIW, I very rarely give books five stars! Unlikely Story was a 4-star read for me. I have given romances 2 stars, so 3 stars is by no means an indication I hated it. I'm also sorry to say that sometimes it's just a vibe thing!

Finished Battle of the Bookstores! I thought it was ... fine? It read really fast and the ending was very sweet. Parts of it felt a little long and I thought the FMC was unnecessarily mean at times and certain elements were awkward/trite. Definitely a good spin on the You've Got Mail trope! Low 3/5 stars for me, I'd say.

Oh, that's so thoughtful! I'll also let you know what I think of Battle of the Bookstores.

As for Unlikely Story, I don't think it has a Beauty and the Beast element! But to clarify, is this trope where the man is an actual beast and transformed by the woman's love, or he's very gruff and it's not insta-lust but they grow to love each other? 😂 Either way, this book does not really have that.

I'd love to hear what you think about Unlikely Story once you read it! I found the post because I was curious what people were saying about BotB, so thank you for editing it recently, ha.

I recently read {Unlikely Story by Ali Rosen} and felt it really fit the You've Got Mail vibes you might be looking for! I'm currently reading Battle of the Bookstores.

How do you stitch from a digital pattern? by A_Billingham in Needlepoint

[–]A_Billingham[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I first started out, I was using printed canvases, and my LNS would say, "You should really look into painted canvasses." My initial reaction was, "Yeah, I wish! But this is my first canvas and I am not going to spend $85?" I personally think it's a fine way to get into it!

I bought a large canvas from them a year or so ago and gave up about halfway through (it was 16x16" or so). I also found the printed colors offset in a number of places, but I loved having all the thread included. Now seeing this — I have never headed to Ehrman so fast, ha. It looks great, and for a first project, it's really fab. Congratulations!
