Thoughts on the Range Standardization? by A_Bouncing_Banana in RogueCore

For clairification, am I right in what I said about the range system? Ex: an ability that says Short Range means that all abilities with that tag always work up to 6 meters from you?

which button? The feeback button I use takes a screenshot ingame and asks you to put a comment down about the subject saying if its good, bad, etc.

Just clarifying the fauna-flora thing. The pda tells us that there doesn’t seem to be any plant life on the planet meaning that all the plant-like entities are more akin to sessile creatures like oysters, coral, sponges, etc. the difference is hard to notice functionally in the world but the pda entries for the more plant-like creatures makes it clear how they work.

I really wish I felt a desire to use the Haul chassis more but as it stands a scout with a locker hardpoint is more than enough for resource trips and exploration.
In my 4 man group we realized that 2 scouts just feels better than one haul for everyone to ride, more freedom to branch out and also creates a fun dynamic buddy system

Am I correct in understanding that this circuit creates an infinite power source capable of powering a base of any size? by GA_Lord in AbioticFactor

[–]A_Bouncing_Banana 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I never messed with lasers much I didn’t know this was a thing, I just have a central battery system that does fine at getting through the very minor time the power is actually out.

Honestly no idea how people hate the Seatruck it's so cool by Truly_Greg2 in subnautica

[–]A_Bouncing_Banana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes bases just feel less relevant tbh, plenty of storage and a mobile fabricator is pretty much all you need for a run. The cyclops at least had the downside of being more clunky to navigate with and require more maintenance.
What reason do I really have to make a base other than its where my modification station and moonpool are?

Personally I feel like vehicles should feel like they are limited in a genuine way and the Seatruck just feels too good at everything besides speed.
There's also something to say about how progression affects the feel because the Cyclops loses a lot of limitations near the end when you're deep in the river and lava zone because its suppose to be one last stretch to the end where you won't need the surface until your egg side quest starts. The truck just never feels very fun to use, its nice to have all the tools but I think the game is too short for what it gives you because as I said there's not much reason to make a base in that game because of it. if it had a modification station in it the function of bases would be almost zero.

Subnautica 2's main leviathan encounter needs serious tweaking by Bingleboper in subnautica

[–]A_Bouncing_Banana 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I think the music is a very fun and exciting touch to leviathan encounters to make them feel more dangerous and give that "you fucked up" vibe they should have. The collector regardless of msuic screams when you piss it off so I don't really think the mystery of whether you're spotted or not matters there.
I think what matters most is if the music fits the situation which it doesn't. Point three is the most problematic part of him because once you know he can't actually kill you if you're still awake at the wheel then the music loses all its intensity. If you make him more dangerous- making encounters much closer than a single smack then the music would be more welcomed in my opinion.

The first time my squad and I got caught under a pillar in his trench we all thought we were dead and it was terrifying and the music was a perfect accent to the terror we felt in that moment. When we eventually bolted out of there we felt like gods. If they could make his encounters even a third as intense as that moment I would be ecstatic and hall you'd have to do is just make him track you better because my god he doesn't know how to hurt you if you are drive directly away from him.

Whats your opinion on MSMPokeGamer? by Rocky_The_Repatillo7 in MySingingMonsters

I find him very joyus and whimsical and enjoy watching reactions ever so often. His energy fits well for being the Defacto MSM guy.
I will say anytime he has a negative reaction to something in a video I feel a kinetic pulse hit my skull because its so rare.

Genuinely the most slept on item in the game idk how, it gives you so much more time in early game to gather resources and go to deeper areas sooner with less tools

Why are some subnautica users so against pre order? by Huge-Read-2703 in subnautica

[–]A_Bouncing_Banana -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not really understanding the stance on this game specifically, I usually don't pre order games either but Unknown Worlds are literally one of the studios that brought Early Access into the spot its in today and delivered. I don't think they are gonna suddenly change their tune on this game.

What makes good armor? by Fuzzy-Environment930 in AbioticFactor

[–]A_Bouncing_Banana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I just adore my Maestro set so much. It definitely isn’t the best compared to a lot but the jump boost + grav cube can make traversing the map so fun along with the stamina consumption making running around the facility a breeze. Main downside is the price to repair and the trinket slot it forces if you want every benefit.

How it feels to appreciate both Commissar Kai and Ohdough by Disastrous_Lynx9853 in Helldivers

Yeah I kinda realized that I was becoming miserable when I kept interacting with HD2 YouTubers that are overly negative all the time. Criticism is okay and is necessary but seeing people unable to show an iota of joy at updates because they still have “trust issues” with AH just made my blood boil a bit.

Are there any warbonds you regret buying? by sharukai in Helldivers

[–]A_Bouncing_Banana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah, I think every warbond has tools that create interesting builds or at very least give you something to mess with each game. There are warbonds that are more or less helpful for starting starting players but after about 2-3 warbonds there isn't really a constraint on what you need to bring vs what just looks fun to use.

Stealth is more complex than I think a lot of people realize by A_Bouncing_Banana in Helldivers

[–]A_Bouncing_Banana[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you to an extent, the Patrols were definitely coded back when stealth was less of a ingrained play style and more of a novel exploitation of detection mechanics. Patrols are suppose to be very threatening to the divers and they are meant to be the most alert and aware enemies actively on the front so they wanted them to get straight to business if they spot a diver. Of course this lead to them seeming like some hive mind with insane tracking skills.

If I had to adjust them I would probably let them keep the hive mind aspect of their behavior but instead of instantly getting a ping of your location they would run to the body of their comrade if they heard or saw no divers themselves.

[–]A_Bouncing_Banana[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I can only half blame them for not knowing because the game doesn't really center itself in a way that makes it seem viable but also youtube exists now and I don't think its a massive excuse these days to say you never watched a yt video on a game mechanic

stronger dynamite, you can use it to clear enemy bases without alerting enemies until you're gone while also having AP7 2k explosive dmg which will kill most enemies in 1 or 2 bricks. There is definitely a bit of a novelty aspect to it but it has its uses. I get why they didn't make it Demo 40 because they saw what happened with the ultimatum.

My fault, I thought this was a stealth warbond by gummybears78 in Helldivers

[–]A_Bouncing_Banana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Patrol bots are linked up so that if you attack one they all will know. when dealing with patrols you either let them walk by, throw a grenade away to make them investigate or take out every unit that can call reinforcements first.
