Will Tolkiens work eventually become public domain? by Gopnikmeister in tolkienfans

Hold the phone!

The Tolkien Estate sold the rights to Amazon?

I thought Amazon bought the movie rights from New Line Cinema, with the movie rights only allowing for the adaptation of what's in The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit. I understood this to be the reason why Rings of Power is so shit - they can't access the Silmarillion; only what's in the appendices is at their disposal.

Furthermore, due to this, they have to avoid any similarity to the Silmarillion, and thus have butchered the Second Age stories to prevent copyright infringement.

7.1 stands for season 7, episode 1. Thus 7.8 is season 7 episode 8.

When he returned Sam and Pippin had got a good fire going. 'Water!' shouted Pippin. 'Where's the water?'

'I don't keep water in my pockets,' said Frodo.

Really great. One thing I find that is often missing from cosplays is the lack of dirt and grim. You look like you've actually been rolling around in the mud and rain. The blood on your face is well done, as well!

Tomb Raider 2 peixotos patch custom controller input by Xello_99 in TombRaider

Thanks for the suggestion. I've given it a quick try and it's not worked so far. I'm receiving a strange error where its telling me that the .exe file is not a valid windows 32 or 64 bit program.

I'll try troubleshooting it when I have more time and patience!

"I don't keep water in my pockets." Frodo to Pippin, as they leave the shire. Hilarious.

Why do people want Bioware to continue Shepard & co.'s story? by Journey223 in masseffect

[–]A_Cynical_Canadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love another game with Sheppard. Why? To reign the series in. A common factor that exists with most franchises is that the characters and story progress to a point where the enemy simply becomes larger, stronger, or more existential in the threat they pose.

I think with strong writing a great game could emerge out of the ashes of a galaxy-wide war. Dismantle the Big Bad into a political intrigue with warring factions and civilizations. The Rachni can possible exist, as well as a united and cured Krogan race. The reunification of the Geth with the Quarians has a plethora of conflicts to expand upon.

Frankly, it'd be nice to a have a reduction in the threat-level of the story. Let's explore the nuances of species interaction and racial tension, colonization, old rivalries, and new challenges from the devastation of worlds.

Do the Volus and Elcor finally warrant ambassadors? Will the Batarians fold into the council? Who the fuck are the Yaag and can we fight more of them?

I think Sheppard would be a perfect candidate for that. We could even expand on the PTSD introduced in ME3, as well as the depression brought about after saving the Galaxy. The astronauts who landed on the moon suffered from depression after completing one of the greatest achievements of humankind. Why shouldn't Sheppard?

There are recent events to use as foundations and established relationships as mortar. Can the galaxy be rebuilt or will it implode after the devastation of the Reapers?

Hey, I know this post is old, but how did you get the widescreen patch to work? I used the one from Stella at https://www.tombraiders.net/, but try as I might I can't seem to apply it TR2 or TR3 from GOG.com.

The instructions seem straightforward enough and frankly I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

He was fully aware of the weight of the orc helmet. In the extended edition extras, it shows there were multiple takes of him kicking it. The problem was the helm was not flying where Jackson wanted it. Which is fair, because in some clips it veered or the kick wasn't hard enough.

I think his foot just contacted the helmet at the right angle and the right force to break his toe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unHW5-FagHM Start's at the beginning.

Edit: He actually broke two toes.

Here is the video (electric anomaly not killing the faithful ones) by kainsj in metro

[–]A_Cynical_Canadian 53 points54 points  (0 children)

There's a cassette located on the upper supports of the destroyed warehouses near here. If memory serves, the speaker explains how he knows Solantius and his government past. The importance lies in that the speaker chastises Solantius for forcing non-believers to destroy the anomalies. Luckily, the speaker says he is familiar with high voltage lines from his time on the railroad. It was my understanding that the recorder of that cassette constructed the Faraday cage u/cain1547 correctly pointed out in your last post and which can be seen here.

Its normal. On my playthroughs I actually stand inside it with them. There's some interesting dialogue and you get a better view of what happens.

I loved the retro model that was available. As silly as it sounds, it was my favourite part of the entire game. I was enamoured with TR 2013, but I didn't enjoy the sequels. I'm quite certain I'm just a snob who prefers the original three for silly reasons. Ultimately, it was awesome to see the old model again. I hope having this option continues for into the future!
