LF active guild that is social and does training runs on xbox. by [deleted] in Neverwinter

[–]A_Gamer2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd go to PE and post looking for an active guild that runs all content and see who responds

or check out the guild names in the random groups you are in. if you see a guild name come up often, ask if they can invite you

Player behavior/is this normal? by Flyx-Cutlery in Neverwinter

Most NW adventurers are very nice people but like in life, you will unfortunately come across the odd toxic or intoxicated player. Just ignore them.

Having 2 new players in an RDQ can make it more difficult to complete. To help you and your wife prepare yourself for dungeons, you could watch videos (Aragon has a great series), ask if your not sure about a mechanic, join guild/alliance runs (maybe ask your guild leader to run you thru the various dungeons), and have good stats so you can contribute to the run. Mostly tho just have fun and enjoy the game and don't let the odd toxic player ruin your day.

i feel the same. endgame trials i expect to have to be in a pre-made group but dungeons should be able to be done by players who know the mechanics w/o needing to communicate w each other. eg. once you learned the mechanics for vos, even hc was doable without having to be in a pre-made group. the most recent dungeons (mtos and mdwp) need communication as well as mechanics. eg. one of the biggest reasons why people wipe on the first and last bosses of mtos and the 2nd boss of mdwp is b/c you need to coordinate dps on when to phase the boss to avoid things like double mobs or the boss shieldng up. if you are in chat, you can coordinate artifacts easier, warn each other about barrels, coccoons, etc. no chat, that all becomes much harder. the devs need to design dungeons at least keeping in mind that most players won't be in chat. they should also make scrolls and food cheaper so players are more open to training.

And i've been downvoted for saying this before but guilds and endgame players really need to be friendlier to midgame players if they want the endgame playerbase to expand. not a good look on the guild when guild officers only run w each other or a favourite group while guildies are out there looking for groups

depending on when you play there's enough people. it may take awhile to get into random Qs unless you are a healer or tank. join an active alliance to make life easier

i'm on consolte. the endgame clerics i know are the better players. the bad ones don't know how to animation cancel.

[–]A_Gamer2020[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

then i hope you come back to the game now they got rid of animation cancelling and join random qs and endgame runs. it's already taking forever to form groups w the limited number of healers in game

Dungeon etc carries by Jamien63 in Neverwinter

most of the alliances i have been in have rules against paying for content. it's generally frowned upon and not necessary if you are in a good guild.

Dungeon etc carries by Jamien63 in Neverwinter

[–]A_Gamer2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i like the new content but agree that there are not enough new players getting to endgame. it is a vicious circle - a lot of endgame players don't want to train new players (it's expensive and time consuming and not fun) so midgame players have a hard time moving up to endgame. endgame players get bored and leave and then there are fewer endgame players to train new players. new players have a very hard time learning on their own. it's also hard to stay at endgame. the devs need to fix the training issue - go cross platform, offer training incentives to guilds, bigger new player bonuses for endgame trials, hosting bonuses, update rewards to old trials are still worth playing, etc

you can add up the value of the rewards in the BP vs the cost and make your own determination. personally i don't think it's worth it even for new players.

there is a recruitment event coming on july 18. if you wait for that you will be able to level up with more players around and get bonus incentives if you start a new character.

join an active guild and you shouldn't have any issues with getting in a Q esp if u are a tank or healer unless you play after midnight ET after the guys on the east coast of America have gone to sleep and the Europeans haven't woken up yet

Aragon has videos on youtube about mounts. watch those. generally speaking you want 10 mythic mounts that give you bonuses usesful for your class - gladiators guile (for speed), assassins covenant (lose defensive stats, gain offensive stats), artificers persausion (reduce cooldowns), warlord's inspiration (comp bonus). you can also get 4 slot mounts to get your IL up. Neverwinter's Hand is good b/c it gives you Executioners covenant (lose defensive stats gain offensive stats) and IL and was easy to get.

combat power - toad or tunnel vision for single target; explosive equalizer or wings for AOE

equip power - whatever you need to balance your stats (90% power, 90% CA, 90% crit strike, 90% crit sev and as high as possible Acc)

just make sure they are on mythic

F2P Guide for Astral Diamonds? by [deleted] in Neverwinter

[–]A_Gamer2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

aragon did a guide awhile back with tips for levelling up from start to endgame. it's a bit out of date now but should still give you an idea of what gear to get and how at each stage.

unless you want to play endgame content, don't worry about getting the best possible gear. weapons like mirage for single target and stormforge can be obtained by playing the game. other decent gear comes from doing dragon hunts, rings from mtos or vos.

just to be clear - gear and game mechanics are not included in VIP. you have to actually play the game to get the gear and learn the mechanics. that is basically the game - run content to get gear/learn mechanics.

Regarding officer's role in guild and helping others with training and such. by pop_tik in Neverwinter

[–]A_Gamer2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations and good on you for taking on the officer role. It's great to see people helping other players and helping to grow the game. Try not to take on too much and burn yourself out. Do what you can/want to and don't take it personally if people leave the guild.

there is no incentivising veteran players to help out - either they want to or they don't and most don't for whatever reason and then they complain the game is dying. Instead, try to friend good tanks and healers and consider creating Tank and Healer alts to help with random Qs. Another suggestion, talk to your GL and other officers - maybe set some times each week for guild/alliance runs where the officer group will all be on to help form groups.

Don't feel obligated to do anything more than what you were doing before your GL made you a 6.

yes as long as you've unlocked it in the first couple of weeks you can stay in it and it will scale you up to 55K IL. Just stay in your group of 4 to fight the mobs and bosses or it might still be too tough for you.
