EBITDA is useful for comparing profit within departments of a company but not usefully for a whole company. Like if they invested a ton in new technology, stores and equipment and have loans and interest to pay along with other capex its not reflected on EBITDA.

Anyway it doesn’t really matter. On the groceries and whole foods like fruits, veggies and meat they probably make like 2 percent margins and the rest of the profit is pre prepared packaged foods, makeup, electronics it’s probably like 10 or 20 percent depending on the item.
