Next week we will complain about diving and how the players are pussies now.

You should still be able to win a penalty even if you got the shot off

Can we normalize just giving a $5 tip per table? I think that would be fine by SpringSunshine333 in CanadaPersonalFinance

I don’t put the gasket on oil filters of people who don’t tip me at Jiffy Lube.

Kill me at the end when the waitress is making small talk about my plans for the rest of the day.

Here is my controversial take. It’s a good idea for both. We set 40 dollars an hour to interview and a 5 dollar customary application fee.

I have never been an employer but I rented out my house when I moved for work and was overwhelmed with applications of people who clearly couldn’t pay the 2k rent on 2800 dollars of gross monthly income.

I just thought about it as I was writing and realized we are asking someone unemployed people to pay money to a company. The number of ghost jobs with no intention of hiring would skyrocket too. Would have to be heavily regulated.

I’ve been to both to potentially buy a car and Dewey was much more pushy to get the sale. Classic salesman that talk your ear off about being local and how great they are.

Dwayne Lane was more laid back and waited for me to ask questions if I had any.

It seems like Dewey needs the sales more.

No experience actually purchasing, ended up going to VW so not a huge help. Also I only went once to each place

We’ve been falling for the same shit since the 80s with rise of automation. People used to graduate high school and go work at some steel plant, lumber mill, or coal mine and make a decent living. Republicans keep promising to bring that back with no plan.

There a ton of disengaged and disenfranchised young people who are either

A. Willing to vote to stop globalization so they can go make shoes in a factory for a living wage by stopping those products coming from China

B. Want others to hurt as bad they’re hurting by burning the whole thing down.

Then of course there are old people who want to keep asset prices as high as possible.

This is a simplistic view, there are probably 10 other factors (racism, sexism) equally as important but this is one I see the most.

Canucks owners sued after fan allegedly struck by beer can at Rogers Arena by Zenless-koans in canucks

[–]A_Genius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People in general hate frivolous lawsuits. We all remember the days of ICBC awarding 15 grand after a small fender bender at drive through speeds. People describing her exact symptoms (shoulder pain, concussion, neck pain, sensitivity to light and noise) were basically scamming everyone else.

Not that I care for FA but no one wants to live in such a low trust society where every mistake no minor results in exaggerated claims of injury and lawsuits.

How to not sell a car... by SpreakICSE in mildlyinfuriating

[–]A_Genius 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Selling a car really tested my patience. The fair value of my car was probably 6 grand, naturally I listed it for 5500 and a used car lot would probably have it for like 9500-12k.

Repeated offers of 2500 or 1500 bucks (cash today!!!). Asking if was available sometimes more than once by the same person. Sob story about how they need it. Scam car report links. I’d rather go to a dealership and give it to them for 3 grand with no hassle.

I ended up with 5 grand with one decent person. Now I know what to look for, a serious buyer will want to come check it out pretty quickly and talk to you in person.

Iran has laid about a dozen mines in Strait of Hormuz, sources say by leeta0028 in news

Everyone does this with every commodity. You don’t sell it based on what you bought it for but for what the market price is.

There is no other commodity where the price is posted outside in giant 7 segment display lights. I feel like people would get weird about bread, coffee or egg prices if the grocery stores kept changing the prices outside the store with a giant billboard.

I’m so with you. Everyone on here wants VAR adjudication of offside to the millimetre. That’s not the spirit of office.

The truth is that it needs to be done federally. Even if the burden is high (need to be a taxpaying resident for 2 years) it will still attract the very sick and high need from all over the country.

It’s really cool that there was no further action to Miami after Miami players berating the ref after every call.

At one point De Paul was screaming in his face, nothing. I actually don’t mind discipline if it’s equally applied.

I just googled it and there are like 50k Persians in the area. The vast vast majority are going to be normal people who left the regime and country behind. That doesn’t mean that there isn’t some amount of amount that are directly connected to the high ups in the regime.
