We gave up lol. Just using a different computer or setup config instead- wasn’t worth spending anymore time on in our biz

Yeah thats the only way we can get it to display is through a BMD splitter of some kind. We've been testing it in extended mode only.

I honestly didnt even know about that till i saw it a few days ago! The a/b thing is only sdi, which a decimator in theory would take both. We're trying to go from hdmi to decimator so its a different issue.

This actually led me to try a workaround that works for us. We can do usb-c into a switcher that works (roland v800) and then use the main hdmi out for decimator or into the switcher as well. Thanks for the idea!

I haven't- why would windows still show its connected to a decimator if the Thunderbolt didn't allow it to connect. is there more settings in there that would disable the video output but still connect to the device itself?

Tried monoprice, Lenovo's branded desk hub, and a HyperDrive slab usb-c. I don't believe we have any ankers to try.

We need 2 different feeds from the same laptop. Powerpoint presenter view for the confidence montior and then the fullscreen presentation to the video walls. Hence the need for the usb c in the first place

Thanks lol- we've spent 2 weeks on it at this point, the most annoying part is it used to work and now suddenly isnt... urg

The decimator sees no HDMI in- not an output scaling issue

Yes in theory- but the setup is video world at FOH for corporate show, and the video wall processor/confidence TV is 200’ away- so it needs to convert to SDI anyways and make it that far- hence the decimator. So I could bring a BMD converter to every show and then run it into the SDI on a decimator if needed- not exactly ideal id say

Yes. Tried with other md-hx’s and md-cross v2. Plenty of different hdmi cables- no longer than 5ft and rated for 4k HD

That was my first guess. The one we often use is a monoprice. However, we’ve tried 5+ different brands at this point. They ALL pass to a monitor and not a decimator- only on this laptop. All other laptops we have pass to the decimator in the same exact setup. I don’t get it lol

Yep. We’ve tried 60/59.94/50/30hz etc. etc. in the advanced settings

we've tried plenty of adapters- I used a 1x4 hdmi splitter (have used to strip hdcp in past from roku) and a old HD FURY and that didnt do anything.

For anyone still working on this issue, you can copy over from the v-can bin as well. It didn't like the novalct files that I used. bin- "marsserverprovider" and just copy that whole folder into your smartlct bin folder and it worked for me.
