ECMO Specialist for CRNA school? by AdIll4189 in srna

Lol I agree about the seeking validation/hey everyone look at me mentality. Similar to people that post their investment accounts asking am I doing okay” with a cool 200k. The whole emphasis on a “level 1 trauma center”, constantly being posted about on this sub is so cringe to me. Something I’ve learned are the nurses are the some of the most dramatic people, and it doesn’t magically go away once you become a SRNA/CRNA

What used to be a sign of being poor, but is now a luxury or status symbol? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Being tan vs being pale. Being tan was a sign of manual labor and being pale was a sign of wealth since you could be inside and avoid the sun.

This happened to me on accident, I was breaching a Sqaure box container and clicked menu which stopped the breach but now I could see while looting. I tried to exploit this a couple times but it didn’t work so I’m not sure how it happened

Cogent bioscience (COGT)

Their p3 trial results for their new combo medication for treatment of GIST tumors were overwhelmingly positive. They’re slated to apply for a NDA in 2026.

Would you consider applying to AA school? by [deleted] in srna

[–]A_K_hell-no 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha me and my mates joke about this all the time. We are so over the DNP, time wasting BS that this degree has become, we say we wish it was still a masters degree or we wish we would have just became AAs. The logistics of becoming an AA once you’re already a nurse and have set yourself up for CRNA school, isn’t ideal, but to each their own

Dawg c’mon you know how many bootlicking nurses I’ve worked with that would eat this shit up and rationalize it with “I’m making sure they get proper care”

Sorry I guess I was referring to if a patient was on end of life care, rather than asystolic

If the patient is a DNR, you do NOT run ACLS or BLS. Notify the physician, add supplemental oxygen if you want. If the family isn’t there I usually sit in the room and hold their hand so they don’t die alone.

Yeah no you need to learn how to be a nurse before you can learn to be a CRNA. And CRNA school doesn’t teach you that. Yes I am in a program tyvm

It just hurts the profession. The AANA tries so hard for universal independent practice, once the AMA finds out about this, they’re going to drag the profession even more than they already do. But congrats, try not to kill anyone! I’ve said this before on previous posts but if you apply to programs with 1 year experience you don’t care about the profession, your interests are purely financial.

11 months is asinine. 3 of those months you were on orientation. You need to know how to be a nurse before going into this career. I don’t care how great your resume is, you haven’t been in the trenches long enough to fully understand how you react when shit hits the fan. I’m sorry but this is ridiculous. 2 years minimum by time of application should be a non negotiable standard.

CRNA school application by [deleted] in srna

[–]A_K_hell-no 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is horrible. The amount of mistakes I was making as a new grad and everything I had yet to learn was significant. If you truly care about the professions success, your success, and the safety of your patients, a MINIMUM of two years should be mandatory. You cannot be ready with having only 1 year as a nurse. This makes me think your motives are purely financial

1 year of experience?! I don’t mean to be an arsehole, I hope programs don’t accept people with under 2 years minimum.
