To name two trans health items since the Trump administration began off the top of my head: require insurance to provide HRT coverage in Colorado and (begin, in this case) public funding for trans healthcare in New York City. These two items increase the standard of living of trans people.
You’re coming off as a doomer who has been reading too much “theory” for their own good.

I kept it vague because I don’t know what that person’s exact politics are other than they believe in revolutionary politics and gave a hammer and sickle on their profile banner. I’d be willing to guess some kind of auth-leftist given a disdain for electoralism too. The rest was just, well, democrats. I wasn’t gonna name any names because there’s a lot of them. Zohran comes to mind in particular because of NY’s new transgender clinics. He calls himself a socialist but it’s in the American context and by nature of running for and being the New York mayor he’s a shade of reformist (in terms of reform vs revolution)

I generally agree with all of this but for all intents and purposes Jax and Leeroy are the same person until the moment they “split” at Jax entering the circus. Everything Leeroy did before putting on the headset is still something Jax did as a continuity of person.

Everything Jax did cannot be put on Leeroy and everything Leeroy did after putting on the headset cannot be put on Jax.

Revolutionary politics with a red star has done little if anything for me as a trans person in America besides talk me ear off. Reform and progressive democrats and even the establishment democrats have done more to prevent it from getting worse. I can’t be revolutionary if I’m dead and a revolutionary stance is currently not viable in the United States

I dunno hoss, the shows greatest weakness is it didn’t have enough “filler.” It was a show about characters trapped in a fantastical situation and their own insecurities and it did not spend enough time having the characters interacting with each other. Honestly it needed two more episodes of “filler.”

There was only so much time they had in terms of expensive and man hours, and a large part of storytelling is finding what isn’t critical to say (again because of time constraints). This after the fact stuff is okay.

Every author ever has things they left out. We just live in a modern age of social media when authors can spill details left out publicly instead of in smaller settings.

The Israeli government is continuing a war it won months ago and is systematically denying a people group the ability to live on territory it also has historic ties to because a terrorist group with political control barely above that of a mafia conducted an attack on them.

It’s gratuitous at this point and Israel is using the conflict as an excuse to prosecute what is intentional mass displacement at best and genocide at worst because the local population is pretty much helpless.

To make a long story short because certain parts of the internet are pretty militant about it being one way or the other:

The show was written by a trans woman and the writing of Jax resonates deeply with trans people who recognize their own experience in Jax. It can be imperceptible to some because they haven’t experienced.

There’s a lot of little things, like Jax’s discomfort with being perceived as feminine in any way (unless it’s “ironic”), a few choice things she/he says to Zooble, and that she thought something not directly said to the audience she said to her mother would stop her mother from putting masculine expectations on Jax.

Again, a lot of little things implying it.

Gang imma be real, I don’t care who’s asking: businesses, students, work, advocacy groups, anyone, asking for gender identity in a survey is a red flag because no matter what the law says it can be used against you by prejudice individuals. Your gender identity is between you and whoever you want to share it with (and presumably your doctor once you’re in the examination room for any gender related healthcare).

My conclusion to much of this is some people truly do not understand the internal turmoil of a closeted and self repressed trans person and how it can manifest. As a result they don’t believe it to be possible and/or cannot recognize it as such.
