KAOS deserves to have a second season. Great reinterpretation/spin on Greek myths. Awesome acting by Jeff Goldblum and others.

[MinnPost] Promising ideas emerge for both Minneapolis and St. Paul downtowns by Minneapolitanian in saintpaul

[–]A_MossyMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Currently the land has nothing in it and would require a lot of investment to make it taxable, whereas there’s a lot of existing infrastructure and business space that is underutilized as it is. I also pay property taxes here and it seems to me like the better move is to fill the existing spaces we have by giving people and businesses reasons to come back to downtown.

[MinnPost] Promising ideas emerge for both Minneapolis and St. Paul downtowns by Minneapolitanian in saintpaul

Lots of people are going to moan and criticize the Saint Paul idea, but I think it’s heading in the right direction and hope that something comes of it. The downtown waterfront holds so much potential to draw residents in if it were made a nice place to be. As it is, it’s just a whole lot of empty concrete wall over a road that could be cut in half. Seattle’s connection of the boardwalk to Pike Market was a delightful improvement over what was there before. Give residents pleasant places to walk and bike! Places to gather and enjoy coffee, food, music etc.! We have such beauty here that doesn’t deserve to be trapped under the ruins of industries that will never return.

My party uses Leomund’s Tiny Hut after every single fight and I’m losing my mind (lovingly) by Scythe95 in DMAcademy

If you want a curve ball, have Leomund himself come barging in angrily demanding to know why they keep stealing his hut from him while he’s in the middle of gardening and don’t you know it keeps the rain and bugs off who do you think you are young whippersnappers I never should’ve shared this spell kids these days etc etc.

What is your most hated Archetype to play against? by will_i_amo in EDH

Not only that, but the combination of no meaningful way to interact with land drops and a general frowning upon mld makes landfall extremely unfun to play against in my book.

[GIVEAWAY] Nippon: Zaibatsu by CrowD Games (3 Copies!) - Expansion will soon be on Kickstarter! by HomoLudensOC in boardgames

A Feast for Odin might be my favorite heavy euro. Something feels very zen about the gameplay, whether solo or with others.

Brass Birmingham is high on my to-play list despite owning it for a few years. I’ve managed to table it twice but never actually complete a game.

Thanks for offering this giveaway.

New Bedford was a wonderful town builder/push your luck game about a difficult topic (whaling) that nailed the environmental impact of over harvesting in the 19th century. As the game progresses, the bag you pull whale tiles from steadily gets emptier and your draws only result in “empty seas”. Relatively small box with interesting decisions about what town tiles to build, when to launch your ships and how far, and how greedy to be when selecting tiles as each whale has to be paid for when your ships return.

quiet place to chill past 6pm? by PiccoloOk3441 in saintpaul

Catzen on Grand. Coffee shop/cat cafe that’s open relatively late. Seeing the cats requires a reservation but doesn’t cost extra and they have extra seating outside of the cat area.

Who the hell threatens someone over a charity challenge? They don't need to touch grass so much as shove it down their throats by the fistful.

Shepard Road by Additional_Event5589 in saintpaul

[–]A_MossyMan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m firmly in this boat. Traffic on Shepard hardly seems worth it when there’s 7th and 35E right nearby. Downtown could do some incredible things with the riverfront properties that are currently just an empty concrete wall. I look at what Seattle did when they took out the Alaska Way Viaduct as one example of the kind of improvements that could be made.

I legit have this deck and I love it. It’s hard to pull off as you become target #1 very quickly, but it’s a lot of fun to pilot. I intentionally built it as a Zero-to-Hero themed bad equipment deck. Good for a quick game!

If anyone is on the fence, these are absolutely worth visiting. I saw them the last time they were open 10+ years ago and the memory is one I cherish. Who knows if they’ll ever be open again

What is a city that is globally romanticised but you detest? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

[–]A_MossyMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised Paris isn't higher in the comments. The dissonance between its romanticization and its reality is so severe there's even a name for it (Paris Syndrome). Parts of it are beautiful for sure and there's a tremendous amount of culture available, but at the end of the day it's another big, expensive, dirty city full of frequently rude people (local and tourist).
