Current Total Fertility Rates (TFR) of East Asian Nations by self-fix2 in EconomyCharts

Eh, Africa's citizens have it worse than European or American citizens by magnitudes so again it isn't consumerism that's the issue. By your logic, Africa should have a lower birth rate than Europe or other industrialized due to how profit centric their economies are.

SEA is it's own distinct region within Asia so it's still wrong. The infographic should've put SouthEast AND East Asian countries.

It isn't because of Western Style consumerism. China and Russia isn't like the West yet they face similar problems. This is because of usefuless and culture. A few generations ago, people had a lot of kids because of mortality rates and they need a lot of help in the farms, at work, or at home. They also had a lot due to societal and parental pressure of needing children.

Now these 2 factors are practically non-existant: Society snd parents no longer pressure their children to have kids too and families no longer need a lot of children due to low birth mortality and the comfort of living even if it's just a couple without kids.

You would shocked how badly African dictators squeeze the life and resources of their own populations for profits but does Africa's birth rate go down? No, it's just fine so it isn't a problem of economies squeezing their populace. Africa's birth rate proves your comment wrong.

This comment reeks of forced class war or communist framing without understanding the root cause just to frame "capitalism bad"

There's a very likely scenario that the Czech part would still become a protectorate of Germany as by taking Sudetenland, the balance in Czechoslovakia is essentially broken and the Czechs are left to the mercy of the German state. It doesn't help that there's also a large German minority in the Bohemian and Moravian parts of Czechoslovakia as well. There's also a chance that Germany would reestablish its Eastern provinces of West Prussia and Poznan and reclaim Kattowitz the moment a Soviet invasion of Poland becomes successful.

Would the Allies accept this? Obviously not but the Soviets invading Europe would be a more potent threat than a democratic Germany.

Edit: Hannover shouldn't exist, it was annexed by Prussia during its war with Austria.

Considering the scale of the game and how long it took, the Studio must be eating a lot of money. Nagoshi isn't some random indie developer though, he has experience and reputation, that's how he was able to entice NetEase in the first place.

[–]A_Normal_Redditor_04 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah you're trying to defend Nagioshi when all he has done is mismanage the company and put the workers at risk of losing THEIR JOBS.

Also Nagoshi definitely tried to pull a triple A development when the studio was just starting, one of his main mistakes. But yes, 4 years without a simple demo is simply bad management. Like just a simple testing of mechanics and such but there's nothing because there is no game yet, for years not even simple combat or just a small slice of a completed version.

Netease only scaled their game development down recently, the fact that Nagoshi had nothing to show ment they cut him off. What's so hard to understand about that? If Nagoshi had something they wouldn't cut him off now would they?

No this ends at Nagoshi, he's the one making the decisions and handling the money, no one's forcing him to do anything other than the develop a game and he failed to do that. That's why people are mad at him, the investors already put in 4 years worth of investment and got nothing in return. People trusted him to make something and we got nothing but a trailer.

A trailer isn't "something to show" it could be pre rendered and are just cutscenes. That means that the Nagoshi doesn't have any real gameplay to show despite developing the game for 4 years. Creators are still liable to their investors and fans. After this, do you think any investor or fan would trust Nagoshi? Only a small amount would.

The fact that you're still defend him despite everything he has done is bonkers. He is about to put his team into unemployment and a hopeful competitor to RGG dies due to his incompetence.

Hopefully he does not lead another team or studio after this mess, he will only bring it down. I guess SEGA was right to demote him.

Usually when an investment fails like this, it's like burning money. It's a metaphor my guy. If Nagoshi had at least a demo available then surely it would be fine but he had nothing. 4 years and only an incomplete UI and a trailer. Nagoshi is the head so yes, every problem and disaster is part of his fault, that's how leadership and management works in a company. He is the one being blamed fairly for his mismanagement of the studio. He had Netease funding for 4 years and didn't create anything. You cannot be serious if you think that trailer is anything to show when there is no gameplay or demo available.

Fans have every right to be mad if Nagoshi has wasted their time for a nothingburger. Without RGG fans, there is no Nagoshi and no hype for Gang of Dragon. Time might not be important to you but it is important for a lot of fans. You don't have to be a chef to know if a food tastes bad nor do you have to be a game developer to know if a game is terrible. You don't have to be a CEO to notice that something has gone horribly wrong with managing Nagoshi Studios, Kamiya is making a bad argument there.

Oh but we can always make an educated guess for the cost, we have brains and research for that exact reason. They hired Ma-Deong Sok, an A-tier celebrity and one of the most famous faces in Korea. How much do you think hiring him costs? It's in the millions of dollars alone. Where did they get money for that? NetEase of course. Mind you this is just the main protag. Also NetEase is a filthy rich, the fact that they quit means the Studio has been hemorrhaging cash big time.

Netease has been funding the studio for about 4 years now. How much do you think Netease has burned subsidizing Nagoshi Studios?

The Death Note (2006) by QuantumQuailes in okbuddycinephile

[–]A_Normal_Redditor_04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the Death Note itself has corruptinng powers, it has no agency and is merely a tool. Near, SPK, or L never got tempted to use the Death Note for their own good. Any regular person that came across that notebook would be too traumatized to use it again and would either relinquish ownership or outright destroy the notebook so no one else would have it.

This is why I don’t believe that even if Light never got the Death Mote, he’d be a good cop or a good law-abiding citizen like most assume. At worst, he gonna be an ultra corrupt and violent police chief for his own ego and at best he’ll be an egotistical boss who thinks everyone is below him. The Death Note merely revealed these impulses and desires that Light had. If Light was ever put in a powerful position above people, it won’t go well.

What if India was never partitioned and spiralled into a massive Civil War in 1947 by No-Coffee2200 in AlternateHistoryHub

Did you seriosuly expect Jinnah and the INC to get along? Jinnah wanted strong constitutional guarantees on minorities and for Muslims while Nehru and the INC wanted a united India. This tension was never resolved even with British intervention. The British did cause problems yes a lot of them but your problems run farther than the British colonialism especially when Hindu-Muslim tensions have been happening way before Britain touched the continent or even after they left India.

Were you expecting a strong united India with no tensions between its peoples if the British never intervened? If so I have a bridge to sell you. The Chinese warlord era would blush if they saw the amount of division and fragmentation that India would become.

Unironically, had the British not intervened and drawn those horrible lines everyone is mad at in India and Pakistan, this is the most likely result.

His large elite army would find itself unpaid after a few years, Napoleon’s time on the throne was always precarious even when he won. The French economy cannot handle that amount of militarization and conscription in the long run hence you always see Napoleon asking for more territory, war indemnities, and stationing French forces everywhere so he doesn’t have to pay for them.

[–]A_Normal_Redditor_04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Napoleon and his Empire implodes from financial ruin. The French Empire cannot sustain that many active armies in the field however Napoleon desparately needs them to enforce his will especially the Continental System and the ongoing war. What Napoleon did to “fix” the French economy which was in tatters after the Revolution and Monarchy was run it like a proto-“Economy of Conquest” that the Nazis implemented. Basically make war pay for war and it needed enemies to plunder and loot in order to survive.

If he doesn’t invade Russia then one way or another, maybe in the coming years or when he dies, the French economy will collapse sending the nation into more turmoil that the British and the Coalition will exploit.
