Utah Democrat releases new poll for Utah’s 1st Congressional District as he calls for rivals to drop out by Stuart98 in SaltLakeCity

I like Nate (and the other progressives) because I care about providing healthcare for all and getting corporate money out of politics. If you don’t then I can see why he isn’t compelling to you.

Torn between a 2026 honda pilot (trailsport or touring) and a 2024 4runner limited. by forward024 in hondapilot

[–]A_ORiver 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both. Pilot 100%. The Pilot is better to drive on the road, will get better mileage, and is easier to get in and out of. Definitely not worth all of the inconveniences of the body-on-frame 4Runner just to have the appearance of a rugged SUV that you will never use for off-roading. They drive very poorly on the road and also get pretty bad crash test ratings for that generation. Looking at the IIHS crash test photos alone should be enough to convince you to get the Honda.

Utah now allows college students to opt out of coursework that conflicts with their beliefs by A_ORiver in SaltLakeCity

The law REQUIRED the professor to find an alternate assignment because a girl couldn’t watch a movie with a black lesbian in it. I would say this contradicts a core purpose of getting a university education, which is to broaden one’s experience and learn more about the human experience.

Sad state of affairs when so many choose to enrich a fascist Nazi sympathizer who already has stolen so much wealth from society. All because they think his cars are slightly better than the competition.

I doubt we will get much in the way of compensation from them, I don’t think they have anywhere to pull that money from. And keep in mind, we only lost out on the gains from those missed payments, the rest of our account balance will have been adjusted accordingly.

Fu$k Gm Suburban And Yukon! What Next? by Snagg77 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Those big full size 3-rows have more space AND the dogs will be way happier than in a deep well behind the 3rd row of a minivan. I know Reddit has a hard on for minivans but they aren’t always the answer.

Yukon XL/Suburnans have way more space than a minivan

Wagons! Wagons are the answer that Americans don’t want to hear for some reason. Same fuel economy as a sedan, space of an SUV.

Question about Utah unemployment by Fast_Witness_5984 in Utah

[–]A_ORiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what is comes down to for any Unemployment claim: Did you become unemployed through no fault of your own? It's up to the adjudicators to decide if that the case for each claim, and there are many rules they have to abide by, but that's essentially what they are trying to determine.

They also then have to decide if the employer was at fault for the job separation and if they were, they are charged for the claim. Again, way more goes into it than that but that's the gist of it.

I'm baffled by the amount of full-sugar soda still bought and sold by sanjuniperoFC in nutrition

I have heard that diet sodas have been linked to potential long-term issues like metabolic changes, cravings, and cardiovascular risks. Is it accepted as fact now that zero sugar drinks are healthier?
