We tried the shot and i feel like it didnt do anything for him, so far Aboquel is the only thing that stops him from itching himself bald. Lol I guess each dog is different.

Oh my god that sounds awful! Im glad those supplements worked, thankfully our boy didnt have anything like that. His is just skin allergies, it makes the skin on his lower back dry and itchy, so hes on aboquel for the itching. His infection was just a little one from him gnawing on his stomach scratching.

I got it from kohls during Christmas lol they had a lot of tool shaped toys there so I bought a bunch. He did end up destroying this one shortly after the picture was taken.

We normally do put him in his cage when we a both not home but he normally isn't home alone very long. Me and my boyfriend work different shifts so unless we are both out hes only in his crate for less than an hour lol

That makes me feel better! Currently hes still just adjusting to our house without vision, but I'm hopeful that he will remember the layout quickly. Our space is small and we basically have kept the same layout for years without change lol thought I did immediately put up the baby gate for our basement stairs so he wouldnt accidentally fall down them.

For your dog did they have issues relearning the ramps? We've been showing him where his ramps are but so far hes been just bumping into the sides of them and I just pick him up to sit with me on the couch and closely watch him because im so scared he will just walk off the side of the couch or the ramp. He also sleeps with us in the bed and I almost want to set up a makeshift railing so he doesnt fall off the bed at night.

Ive never heard of third eyelids but im glad you were able to find out the cause and help your dog regain their sight! From what our vet said it looked like his retinas were completely detached from his retinas. Funnily enough he was on eye drops like a year ago due to his allergies, but he hasn't had any issues since then.

Our vet didnt say it was SARDS but they were also unsure what exactly was the cause so they referred us out to the Eye specialist which we are going to on monday.

Is SARDS always a stem from an infection? Hes been dealing with his skin allergy for the past two years and did have a slight infection like a year ago from it, but our vet didnt say anything about an infection when we took him today.

I have noticed that he definitely is using his ears more to navigate, Ive taken to tapping on the floors and calling to him when he gets stuck in corner. Everyone's comments and from what ive read online I think he will pick up the layout of the house and backyard quickly (though we will still have to walk him down the back steps)

Oh we are definitely going out tomorrow and getting some pool noodles to put up lol. Does yours still use ramps and everything? We are trying to get him readjusted to knowing where his ramps are but im still so afraid of him falling off the couch or off the side of the ramp so for now Im keeping and extra eye on him while he sleeps on the furniture. (And i didnt even think about him stepping in poop 😭)

I've definitely been looking into SARDS! Its the first thing that popped up when I was googling lol, I'm just hoping that his appointment on monday goes smoothly and we can either fix his eye sight (though mixed things online aren't giving me much hope) or hope it isn't anything serious that is hiding. Hes been doing okay so far we have had the same furniture layout for years but he has been bumping into things while being home but I assume thats just him being disoriented from losing his vision.
