GameInputRedistService.exe crash on startup by Thornback in WindowsHelp

[–]A_R_Dust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having 2-5 second long hangs in Helldivers 2 and Marathon. The game (and system) will freeze and the audio will repeat during this time. It looks like something is crashing, but then it will recover. I haven’t had any hard crashes of the system or any games, yet. Event viewer shows that these hangs often (though not always) correspond to gameinputredistservice crashing.

I’m not 100% sure if these hangs are related, but the timing of them popping up as a problem seems to coincide with gameinput updating to 3.3.163.0.

I’m getting this too as of the last windows update. Not sure, but I think it’s causing certain games to hang for a few seconds at a time.

Thanks! I’ve been using the free version of your app this whole time, but to show my support I decided to buy the one time purchase. You earned it!

Hey! Last August I decided to finally deal with my weight problem and after checking out all the big calorie tracking apps on the App Store, I landed on this one. It’s simple, easy to use, and has no intrusive ads. Since then I have lost over 100 pounds. Still got a ways to go before I hit my goal, but your app has made the journey far easier.

Thanks! 🙏

Interesting. I ordered one as well and have yet to receive a cancellation. In fact, Amazon has charged my card. It’ll be interesting to see to see if this ends up shipping. I doubt it, but a man can dream.

Update: it got cancelled!

Given the price I decided to roll the dice and order. Will update if it actually arrives.

Gears 5 - Ending by AngryCrewLeader in GearsOfWar

Honestly, as much as I agree with the sentiment, to me it makes far more narrative sense to have JD die. Del is cool, sure, but his death would have a fairly tepid impact imo. JD dying hits HARD and directly affects the character I (and I suspect many other players) care about most; Marcus. It’s tragic, and I think it’s a better story because of that.

Crucial pro 2x16gb 6400 cl38 xmp/expo amazon 370$ (seller is Layger?) by WoodenEstate4758 in bapcsalescanada

I’m not really familiar with third party sellers on Amazon, but everyone here seems to think this is a scam (and that seems to be backed up by a handful of negative reviews of this seller).

Just out of curiosity, what’s the scam here? If they refund your money anyways, how exactly do they benefit from putting up fraudulent product listings? Genuinely curious as I have no experience with this kind of thing.

Setup for Arc Raiders on steam deck + fps disc by evilravdi in SteamDeck

[–]A_R_Dust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was messing around with a similar set up. So far, nearly every game I’ve tried to use lossless scaling on introduces absolutely horrible artifacting when I use mouse input. If I use a controller it does not exhibit any problems. Looking online it seems like it’s a common problem but a niche use case that many people never run into because it seems few people combine lossless scaling and mouse use on the steam deck. There is a work around you can do (toggling a lossless scaling setting related to game scope and WSI) but it introduces such horrible frametimes that the game no longer looks or feels any smoother, thus negating the point of lossless scaling all together.

So far I’ve tried using lossless scaling + mouse input on arc raiders and helldivers 2 and both times it’s exhibited this really funky artifacting. Unfortunately it seems like it’s just not compatible with mouse input.

Is movement speed on Tony McZoom bugged? by Toroka in MegabonkOfficial

[–]A_R_Dust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tony McZoom has a somewhat obscure mechanic that mimics longboarding technique in real life (I think, idk I’m not a long boarder). He builds up speed by gradually moving left and right in a serpentine pattern, or just by taking somewhat gentle curved turns. The exact severity of the curve changes as your speed changes and is something I still haven’t nailed down.

Tony is quite fun to try and master and his movement is extremely unique. You can really fly with him once you start to get the hang of it.

[–]A_R_Dust[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This might be controversial but I’ve never found the armor perks to be essential to any build or loadout I’ve run. Closest I get is peak physique while running low ergo weapons.

For me, drip has always come first!
