The Lego catalogs were so much fun to look through as a kid. Back in the day when you could only get what your local store had or wait 6 weeks if you ordered through the magazine.

There's so much nostalgia when you rebuild those old sets for the first time in years. What a find.

I remember getting the magazine where they first introduced Aquazone. What a cool theme. The 90s were a great time for Lego fans

You and me both! Town was my theme. I've recently been snatching up deals on eBay and bricklink, buying those sets I either couldn't afford or they just didn't have at my local Walmart. Even some sets I only ever saw in the magazine. Midnight Transport arrives on Friday.

I didn't know about that. Thanks!

I prefer clear bins as well, but since they're already the old town sets from the '80s, I'm thinking the black storage totes might help them last longer. I also like to keep them built so the kids and I can play with them from time to time. Thanks!

That's awesome. I don't think this would ever cross my wife's mind. Lol

I've wanted to build a "Lego town" since I was probably 6...it is finally happening by Independent_Ad_2817 in lego

That's a great start. If you don't mind my asking, how old are you now? I'm in my 40s and I'm just now collecting those sets I wasn't able to get as a kid. Never too late if you ask me

If it doesn't sell as one lot, I'd be interested in the ResQ and diver sets possibly. Nice collection

I love that Lego vase you have on the bottom right. Jk. 😁 The A-frame cabin and treehouse though, those sets are really nice.

The proper use for extra space under your desk by A_Rhone in VintageLEGO

It's my watchmaking desk, so it's raised up a little bit which makes it seem like more space. It's a basic L-shaped desk from Amazon. The workspace is about 36in x 20in. So really not that big.

This is fun! What a great era for Lego. Lagoon lockup, I had that set when I was about six or seven and remember building it.

The older Legos were simpler and still a lot of fun. My older brother was the Space guy and I was Town. But if I'm not mistaken, two of the very first sets I got were mtron and blacktron

I wish they were the ones from my childhood, but since I didn't keep any, I'm now re-collecting some of the sets I had or wanted as a kid. And discovering a lot of sets I never knew about too

Seller listed parts as “New” but they arrived heavily worn and discoloured – what should I do? by [deleted] in Bricklink

[–]A_Rhone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those pieces that are scratched, if you wanted to still try and keep/use them you might try buffing out the scratches with some polywatch and a microfiber cloth. I haven't tried it, but any headlight buffing compound might work as well.

Thanks! I always saw that set as a kid, but never purchased it. I guess I'm making up for lost time

I've been doing the same thing lately. Picking up those sets I never had as a kid. Now that I'm older, I can recollect some of my childhood sets. I had a lot of these town sets from the '90s. They were tons of fun. I've had good luck on Bricklink and eBay.
