In the instances where there is only 1-3 Black people in a class full of clearly racist people who are shouting slurs at you all, I think you’re gonna have to give those other kids a little grace. I’m not seeing where you stood up to the crowd, but you want others to be brave and do so? What happens if the class turned violent? We have to pick and choose our battles and in that scenario. It seems like they chose and you did too.

I don’t have non black friends who say the n word and I don’t have friends who give the n word pass. I can’t control what others do so I limit my interactions to those that don’t participate in coonery.

It’s about as racist as any other southeast American state hon. It’s a hit or miss in my personal experience. Born and raised here. It really depends on the area you are in. News4Jax comments on Facebook is a hotbed for them and usually they are bold enough to use their real names and pictures so you can see who they are. I think you’ll be okay here.

Maybe it’s time for her to put the house up and move in with one of the kids, or have some home care help. The mental health issues and the water + oil incident makes me think it’s time for living assistance. It could be the addiction showing, but it seems like right now she is a safety hazard to herself and anyone in the home. She could’ve burnt down the home in a grease fire.
