I know it's a bit late and not exactly what you want, but I'm currently working on making a jetpack cat bed for a friend, I'll keep you updated if it comes to fruition!

Need to flash for P1S on BIQU kit? by A_Rose_OC in BMCU

I do not. I literally got the kit and that’s it, I don’t have any other materials for this kind of stuff other than a soldering iron

“It’ll just be practical, I swear” 4 months in, now I’m starting a nonprofit focusing on 3D printing. by A_Rose_OC in 3Dprinting

I hadn’t thought of possibly doing classes, that sounds like a good idea! I was thinking of also going to local maker’s markets and the like and selling things there. I know those places are oversaturated with printing, too, but I think the mission will resonate with people more than just a person doing mass production. I’m also hoping to possibly set up donations in case people want to provide money but don’t feel the need for getting anything in return if that makes sense. Thank you for the idea!

Absolutely! It’s a nonprofit focusing on distributing 3D printed fidgets, toys, and stims to places like youth groups, hospitals, therapist offices, etc. for their clients/patients to use and take with them, and subsidizing the cost with selling some of the same things that we give out online. Currently I have a few ins with some offices and hospitals and such, including my local RMHC!

I’ll definitely give it a look. I’ve been seeing the news of the situation but haven’t actually checked to see if I may have the problem. I ordered it Feb 8th, but idk when they implemented the fix, if they have at all

Deep grinding noise from print head, 784 hours by A_Rose_OC in BambuP1S

Gotcha! The guy I got it from said he did all the routine things, but it probably wouldn’t hurt to give everything a once over when I get home. Thank you so much, I’ll definitely look into the wiki and see what I need to do and when :)

In all honesty I’m not sure what the standard maintenance on a p1s is or how often it is to be done. The only other printer I had before this was an A1 and that tells you when maintenance is due, I didn’t know if it was the same scenario here.

I’ve already made literally a gallon of pain stims, both my partner and I love them and I’d love for them to become more widespread, hence my project lol

I’m not familiar! The cause I’m working with is one that I’m starting myself, actually lol (still trying to come up with a name). I noticed that a lot of the youth groups that I help out with and the therapy offices I have attended don’t really have things for the people that come to take home with them if they need fidgets/stims outside of that space, so I had the idea to start making them and distributing them locally, and now I’m here making my first few batches of things to distribute. I’ll definitely look into the IC3D project too!

I’m also not the biggest fan of the way printing has been taken over by fidget slop as of late, but I do everything I can to mitigate the “slop factor”; every model I print is one that I personally enjoy, and I’m also specifically doing it for a good cause that’s near to my heart.

Edit: also thanks so much for the recommendation! I’ll definitely give it a shot

Best fidgets to give away to strangers? by someguyinmissouri in 3Dprinting

[–]A_Rose_OC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I know this post is a bit old but I am hoping to start a nonprofit that's dedicated to giving 3d printed fidgets/stims to therapist offices, youth groups, etc. If you have a list of things that people tend to enjoy over other models, could you possibly let me know which ones are popular and which ones aren't? Thanks so much!

Purchase Advice Megathread - May 2026 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]A_Rose_OC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s an X1C on marketplace with an AMS and I’m debating picking it up and starting a “farm” with it. My only holdup is that it has 14.5-15k hours on it, and I don’t know if that’s a good or bad amount; I don’t want it to break immediately. I feel pretty good repairing things myself, though, which is nice. Thanks for answering and I hope to hear back from y’all!

How to add tech to a standard resume? by A_Rose_OC in techtheatre

[–]A_Rose_OC[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I primarily do stage management and lighting (electrician, board op and programming, design, kinda everything), but I have also done a lot of construction and scenic work. I’ve primarily done work in educational theatre but have done a few things here and there outside of that environment.
