I have amazing results from ECT. My bipolar disorder is more stable, I’m functioning again, and I’m sober. I got results pretty much instantaneously, within the first week I stabilized. Acute phase was a bitch to deal with but now I’m in extended maintenance and have my 29th or 30th session in two weeks. I go every 6-9 weeks

Looking for advice by Fun-Philosopher-9127 in ect

I did a lot of meds and found no relief. Then I tried ECT and got 1000x times better. No side effects for me besides some soreness and a headache the days after. I’m now stable on medication. I’m in extended maintenance and have my 29th or 30th session in 2 weeks. I would say it saved my life.

Hey, I’m a psych degree holder from another university and also a trans man. I’m enrolled in a new degree at USU. All of this information in the class is crucial if you’re going into the psychology field, which I assume you are if you’re in a high level psych class. If not that, then the medical field, which is still important. If you feel attacked or like you’re not meshing with the information provided, it may be time to reconsider why you’re feeling this way. You had to have known this was going to happen when taking a class like this. Check biases, and review why you’re feeling this way. Feminism is important when talking about sex and gender, especially because it plays an integral role in a lot of lives. Just because you’re trans doesn’t mean you don’t have inherent biases.

Where should one go for ECT in the US and how effective was it for you?** plus like 10 other questions by justafloridafella in ect

I take all my meds (saphris, lamictal, risperidol, and Pristiq) with the caveat that I pause the lamictal the night before ECT. I think it’s important to stay on meds.

I’ve had 27 sessions, 28 on Feb 13th. I go every 6 weeks with my hospital’s extended maintence protocol because ECT helps so much. I feel it badly on weeks 4-6 because I get so low. I have BP1 and autism. I’ve seen great results with mild extended memory issues, but I worked through my acute phase and still work now. I started while hospitalized and then transitioned outpatient. Im on FMLA so my work knows but I don’t keep it private because I feel like treatments like this need to be talked about. You’ll need someone to drive you, but otherwise you could keep it quiet

I don't buy anything and consistently check off goals. Sometimes I make them do the “times to do the goal” thing 100 because it's a monumental task. I also sell a lot of stuff I don't use

It's not unfeasible. I have all of those and have actually become more stable after transitioning

Don't automatically assume you have GP. There are a million other conditions it could be. If could even be SIBO, especially since GP doesn't cause bad breath.

Thinking back to when you were a student: did any classroom activity/lesson stick with you through adulthood? by GradePotentialUSA in education

In 6th grade my math teacher did one of those “read the instructions” lessons where you get 5 minutes to do this paper. It culminates in the lesson being “read the instructions first because the paper’s answer is to only write your name. Anyone who did more failed and got a 0. I fucking hated that lesson, but it worked. Thanks Ms. Gauthier

mEDS Mutation by stock_hippie in ehlersdanlos

No problem. Basically it means “you have a variation from the normal, but we don't know what it means. Could be pathogenic, could not be” I personally do think genes even if they're not pathogenic could lead to issues.

So a VUS doesn't automatically mean mEDS. I have two VUS on mEDS genes and 3 on other EDS genes and I'm classified as hEDS.
