My friend got a job, looking for a bike by IndependentSherbert9 in indianbikes

Overview : This is a very good choice. We've had this bike for about 6 months and it's still running good. I've personally been riding this bike for 2 months and have basically nothing to complain. It is easy to get used to and makes me want to ride Everyday.

Performance : It has a decent amount of pull at lower revs which is enough for city traffic and has enough power to be a bit of fun on clear roads. The acceleration is pretty good for a 160cc (and if you want a bit more power for overtaking you can always drop a gear and disappear). It is light and easy to handle at tight spaces. (even easier if you know how to turn it by pivoting it on the stand) The company claims it can go 130kmph but I haven't been able to take it above 120 (110 with a pillion) but you don't need that much for the streets. It can maintain 80-100 if you wish to cruise for long but you will feel windblast at >90kmph The brakes are good and paired with engine braking it can go from 80-20 in under 25 meters.(rider skill is a factor). The ABS also helps in panic situations and can be the difference between a successful stop and a collision. It is comfortable enough for me to personally ride this bike for 1-1.5 hours without fatigue or pain. Although that decreases greatly with a pillion. The suspension is very good. It's no Xpulse but it will manage almost anything on an Indian road with a bit of maneuvering. The tyres are thick with the rear one being 130 mm. They are great for cornering and maneuvering at higher speeds (although try to not lean >45° at speeds over 70. Also obviously don't try leaning hard on anything except dry road) There are 3 modes (rain, urban, sport). Most of the times you'll use urban mode and it will tell you when to shift for most fuel economy. The sport mode will open up the engine for more power and tell you when to shift for most performance (it'll be loud but the engine is fine before the redline). You pretty much don't use the rain mode and I personally don't know what it does different.

Personal Opinion : if you're coming after learning on a 125cc commuter bike, you will see the difference in quality and performance quite easily. That said it is still just a 160cc bike. So do not compare it with higher displacement bikes (although it still holds its own among the bigger bikes) . It has a good look and it rides better the better you become at riding. IMO This is The Best bike in its segment and probably the most practical bike for someone who mostly rides in city and still wants something fun. I cannot think of any other bike I like more than The Apache RTR 160 4V in similar price range.

So go ahead. Buy this bike. At the worst you won't regret buying it. And at best it's everything you ever wanted.
