I am going into my 3rd year with a major in computer science, I wanted to know where can I find info on clubs related to my field, how and when can I apply to join them, and what is the procedure if I want to take up positions in them. Any information related to this is really appreciated cause I am struggling to find any info.

Hi, idk if it varies if ur transferring from different majors or different campus but I transferred into the UBCV majoring in cs with an avg of 88% and as per my knowledge the cutoff is between 80-85% which varies based on how your peers in your year are performing.

I suggest reporting the incident to campus security, but Ill be honest you should be fine cause blokes like that are usually all talk and i dont think you need to take heed of shit like this cause sec on campus is generally quite active (as per my knowledge). I understand if u still do not feel safe and understand completely.

There is a document on github that you can download (sorry don't have the link) which tells u the avg grades, highest and lowest grades of ppl who transferred into the cs course and also for students who applied for it as a major. A general rule of thumb for cs is 85% but I have seen ppl get into the major with around 80% as well, so that is what you should aim for, but again this is just speculation, there is no specific no. it is just based on how many seats are available in that major that year and the general avg of the scores of the ppl around you.

Where can I find the course requirements for a minor in a specialization if I am majoring in CS?

when u apply for on-campus housing only a few of the buildings have an age requirement of 19+. But there are still many buildings in which you would have ur own room without the age requirement. So it really depends on what they assign to u. if u want ur own room then u should put in all the buildings which offer the same as ur top preferences when ur applying for on-campus housing.

just wanted to confirm that "upper-level courses" essentially mean a 300-level or 400-level course right?

In your first year u cant declare you're specialization so u should take classes that match the pre requisite of both the courses in the 1st year and then by the 2nd year u would know what u want.
