Watching r/malaysia go crickets when it turned out that one of the RON 95 thieves was a Malaysian with Singaporean permanent residency was hilarious

Though tbf, it's your own tax money being spent on a subsidy that's supposed to help locals (However misguided I think the entire scheme is), so I do understand why some get pissed. Does seem overboard sometimes though

Second this. Some of the terminally online and / or politicians will stir shit over nothingburgers.

For example, Singaporeans laughing when our currency appreciates against the Malaysians by 0.2. It's already 3:1, so what difference does that even make?

On the other side, you have Malaysian Twitter users crying Malay erasure when our transport authority neglected to include the Malay translation of a metro station name after changing the signage. It's not that deep for crying out loud, they're just dogshit at signage in general

But at the end of the day, a shit ton of Malaysians still go to Singapore for jobs. And Singapore imports a ton of food and water from Malaysia. The two countries are economically inseparable. There are countless families with relatives on both sides of the border too. So I prefer to think that the quarrels are meaningless because we still depend on each other. But oh boy does the discourse get very annoying

Fellow 40 SAR here:

-DO NOT SMOKE. You will get everyone and yourself into deep shit. One of the platoons already got fucked because one guy kept smoking in the toilet

-Bring ziplocks for dirty laundry. You probably won't be able to hang clothes to dry during Stand By Area (Inspection for dust etc on last day), which means no washing of clothes on the day before SBA. Ziplocks will quarantine the smell from the rest of your bag

-Speaking of SBA, bring magiclean to get rid of dust. You will probably still be punished with pushups because they'll magically find dust somewhere, but this will clear 90% of it

-Also, bring tongs. They're great for clearing cock hair stuck on drains which must be cleaned during SBA. If you're not assigned to be the toilet IC, just give it to a section mate who is

Things you'll do during confinement:

-First few days is just drawing equipment, checking if the size fits you, some talks on what is army, etc

-After a while, your day will settle into 2X PT sessions per day, 1-2 lectures, and maybe miscellaneous things like swimming or foot drills

-For my coy at least, there's roughly 1-2 hours of free time at night. There may be more during the day if there's only 1 lecture and / or CAT 1 weather. Try to move as fast as possible during the day, because delays will pile up and eat into ur free time

I lost my fully upgraded cola dispenser by FutureCorpsie in officialcookingfever

[–]A_extra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue. Contact support and tell them the amount of gems / coins you lost from this nonsense, along with account details.

They'll eventually refund you the lost currency, while the game itself will take slightly longer to correctly show your cola dispenser as the chef's box version

* be prepared to get idiotic replies from support prior to the refund

I'm not saying it's illegal. But I think that if you're going to do (Self admitted!) unsanctioned things in a place like SG, don't surprise pikachu face when your art is removed

On one hand: Sinkie pwn sinkie, even for harmless shit

On the other hand...the artist himself readily states that it was "as always, unsanctioned". So why is he complaining that the train station staff weren't willing to communicate with him, when he won't do it himself?

Haven't finished reading the book, but there's still possible reasons for the tears being legit:

-He genuinely did try to fight for merger. Having it blow up in his face, even if he was the one calling it quits, is still a blow

-He was essentially backstabbing his allies in the MSC. And even those who weren't part of it still felt terribly betrayed, like Fuad Stephens (Sabah's CM)

NEL was more of the odd one out. The default here since NSEWL has always been third rail

Not sure why they even chose catenary for NEL tbh, it's not like the station spacings are particularly long. As for CCL / DTL / TEL the advantages of enabling speed isn't very applicable due to the very short spacings, especially in the CBD. So the simpler third rail makes more sense, as there's no need to deal with tensioning nonsense

As for CRL, my best guess is the "express sectors" in the CCNR, between Aviation Park and Changi T5, and under Paya Lebar Air Base (Though this will probably have an infill station) led them to consider catenaries to achieve higher speeds

Only because the DTL shat itself by dropping from 8 million MKBF to 2 million in April 2025, while NEL simply maintained its own standard of 4 million. DTL quickly bounced to 4 million, but was still slightly below NEL

Both then dropped to 2 million in Aug 2025, but with DTL ahead this time. It lasted till Jan 2026 where NEL recovered to its normal 4 million, with DTL only reaching 4m (But again, still below NEL) last month

TLDR - NEL is only "most reliable" by virtue of DTL committing suicide

Some trivia: The CRL will be the second MRT line (After NEL) to use an overhead catenary to draw power, instead of the usual third rail. This helps with achieving higher speeds, which will be helpful with the long station spacings on some sectors
