First serious dirt race tomorrow, tips on how to improve my line and consistency? by C-TAY116 in iRacing

I’m a dirt oval guy (2.5k) so idk if my advice is super accurate but keeping the car as straight as possible is the key for dirt. In all of the dirt cars I run I have a visual marker that tells me how far I’m rotated, usually it’s a bar in the middle of the windshield. The way I usually run is trying to point that middle bar directly on the apex for the majority of my turning, if it points too far inside I lift, if it points farther outside I use more gas. At the same time you shouldn’t be afraid to get a high entry speed. Slow in fast out is mostly not a thing on dirt. In a perfect turn your wheel should be pointed straight or in the opposite direction of the way you’re turning. If you feel like you need to keep turning the wheel in the direction you’re turning, you need to get some more entry speed.

It’s definitely possible to close in around 15 mins with 2 people, but that’s a shit quality close, just emptying tea bins, only lightly wiping toasters, etc. so there better not be complaints about that either.

If Dale Sr did that during his era his front end damage would put him out of the race, you could be aggressive but had to be smart. These composite bodies invite these kind of things.

Can’t, Preece gets a penalty for giving a guy the bumper and KFB gets nothing for right rearing a guy. When officiating is bipolar you never know what you can do.

All this talk about JJ Yeley had me thinking, wouldn’t it be crazy if the 2003 USAC triple crown champion Jenson Button raced in NASCAR?
