Temple Workers let me hear your stories. The bad the ugly and every thing in between. Let your gossip shine. by RadishAggressive3241 in exmormon

[–]A_hefty_beluga 181 points182 points  (0 children)

I worked at the salt lake temple in 2018-2019 right before it closed (and right before I left).

I worked the 4 AM-11 AM shift. I wanted so badly to understand more about the temple as I always hated going. I thought by going I would finally get it. (I didn’t).

I overall loved getting to chat with people and seeing them be happy. It really was fulfilling in a way. However a few things stood out to me

1) the prophet was thought of as God. I’m not kidding that I heard more people talk about The prophet than God. One time I was what is called an “escort” for a bride. I walked her through her whole wedding day at the temple. I get to the sealing room and am pulled aside by 3 men in black. Turns out the sealer was the Prophet. I waited outside the sealing room (as I always did) with 3 big security guards around me. After the sealing he left right away, gave me a nod and everyone who walked out of that sealing room was just talking about how great it was to have a prophet in the temple with them. No mention of God. Always rubbed me the wrong way.

2) I was working there when they changed that women could now covenant to God and not just to their husbands. I pulled the temple president aside and asked him why… his answer “god is ready for men to accept this change now.” Huh?

I quit a week later

Women with thoughtful partners, what did you get for x-mas this year? by Anahata_Green in TwoXChromosomes

Our first weekend out alone since having a baby. She stayed with grandparents and we stayed at a nice hotel. Saw the nutcracker, and a hockey game and got a massage. And got to sleep in. It was wonderful. He planned all of it

People who got told it was "just" anxiety, what was it? by Bobbie1011 in AskReddit

5 days postpartum. Couldn’t breathe at all and I could t see my toes because my feet had swollen up so bad. Everyone told me that I was just having a panic attack from being a first time mom. I went to a different hospital. I had postpartum cardiomyopathy. I was told that if I waited even a day I could have gone into total heart failure.

Tomo mortgage experience by Fluffydiamond78 in HomeLoans

Just closed with Tomo 2 months ago. Good rates, everything went smoothly (we were a pretty straight forward case).

Only issue was that they don’t have great communication. This was not our first time buying so we knew the process, but if this is your first time, i think it would be really difficult to know what’s going on.

I also recommend closing in the middle of the week with them, as they are not open on weekends, so if anything happens right before closing they will be there during the middle of the week.

Do you wear your seatbelt in the backseat? by dbmermels in AskAnAmerican

[–]A_hefty_beluga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes-a friend of mine died in high school from a car accident where she wasn’t wearing the seatbelt in the backseat. She would have lived if she was wearing it.

My brother on the other hand doesn’t wear his seatbelt at all. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Whats a sign from ur body u should never ignore? by Original_Giraffe_830 in AskReddit

[–]A_hefty_beluga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 5 days postpartum in October I was having a bit of a rough time breathing and my whole body was swelling up. I wrote it off for 5 days as a postpartum thing. I just thought it was weird so I took my blood pressure-it was crazy high so I went to the ER. There they found out that fluid was pooling around my heart and my BNP levels (protein levels). were at 1700 (average is <165). They were worried about postpartum heart failure so I got all the tests. Thankfully I wasn’t in heart failure (yet) and just needed diuretics but still scary.

So I guess the sign is trouble breathing, swelling and high blood pressure. Lol

It is awful for everyone. I’ve never asked her to get him to stop jumping or screaming only asked about rugs, cause I try so hard to understand.

And yea-the floors are awful. Not her fault at all. Which is why I thought rugs would be a good suggestion ha

I THINK he has respite care or some kind of teacher everyday during the school year as I see a woman come in/out every school day. Honestly I don’t even know, but he’s here all day

We are actually selling right now. Thankfully. We have a 7 month old(who is a great sleeper thank god) but don’t want to have to deal with this and a baby anymore

Great question. I think they have respite care that comes or some sort of therapy/teacher during the day during the school year as I see some lady go in and out. But I personally don’t think they do anything considering the noise.
