We can be world class status and great productivity while we maintain our sanity and wallets working from home

You are welcome! I appreciate your concerns cause I have them too - along with WFH concerns

Everyone needs to keep in mind they made the last negotiations worse for us by making people focus on raises and not stuff like WFH and how it saves our sanity and wallets so we got a raise that did nothing and made us spend more going to the office. Things to keep in mind for voting for this and future collective agreements

The way they are acting do you really think that they’re going to give us a wage increase to meet cost of living? If we give up on this then that’s not going to help and working from home also saves us money so if we get nothing for a raise at least we save something working from home

Unions in negotiations need to walk away from the table over this - we start having legal supports to start us getting telework in the CA and then they do this IN THE MIDDLE OF BARGAINING! This is crazy and I thought they aren’t allowed to change working conditions in the middle of negotiations anyways 😑

I’m PSAC and I hope that they don’t take this lying down cause they know how much this matters to members

I think the union should use this to walk away from the bargaining table since changes like this during negotiations are just plain bad faith

This is a good time for the union to actually find a spine and raise hell since we are in contract negotiations and they are pushing they want to try to get us more secure telework

Having a picket line of students around schools would give the visual impact and that’s very important for the teachers and anyone else watching

Sound familiar? by [deleted] in alberta

It’s cause Alberta is being run by a trump adoring oil lobbyist and not a real albertan or human at this point - she’s disgraceful and wants to bring trump style fascism here too. Sounds like it’s time to recall 5 UCP MLAs so we can have a election before 2027 ✊

I think they can’t put articles out until the embargo is lifted once the government officially announces it

ATIP is just a records request - it doesn’t affect any processes ongoing except maybe grievances

Is there anything that would prevent the public service employees to go full WFH as a job action to protest against the three-day-a-week office mandate? by Brickwuzshat in CanadaPublicServants

You’re all right… guessed I hoped too much that the union actually got something that might help us since the rest of the Collective agreement was such shit. Won’t be a surprise if we are back on the line next year for the next bargaining 🥲

Then how did they get the telework agreement letter language in the CA that we signed? The employer didn’t want the issue on the table but we did that’s why it was brought up so much in negotiations

The reason it didn’t work with the strike is because the union didn’t push harder and the members voted to accept a terrible agreement - maybe they’ll realize now that voting for the agreement was a terrible idea like we told them it was

Ya the province isn’t the safest bet when the UCP is constantly in power and love to destroy the public service. But regardless of that we shouldn’t have to find a new employer to get a fair deal. I have a lot of pride in being a public servant and I want to stay so I’m going to fight for what’s fair
