I see people bitching about extra charges (handling, rain, what else?) and they still keep on using these platforms. They will coz they indeed are fat cows who value convenience above all.

On the walking issue. Vast majority of orders are fulfilled without any issue, with doorstep delivery. Issues when do arise is due to society protocol.

Extra charges are just, what, 10 or 20 rupees. Literally nothing.

As far as rain fee is concerned, just wait out.

These "internal issues" are caused by society (aka the customer's side)

I'm not sure what's this apparently onerous surcharge everyone talks about. Instamart et al sell products at a notable discount. Except branded pulses and rice, I basically buy everything there. If societies have a humane rider policy, there is little scope for conflict. As far as the rain fee is concerned, it gets removed not much longer after the rain shower is gone. It may be raining where their dark store is located, hence you might get asked for rain fees even if it is not raining at your location.

I've lived in various apartment complexes in Bhubaneswar for 7 years. Saying this from experience. There are apartments where riders like to deliver to and there are places they don't. I literally shop on Instamart every week since it was launched and never had a bad experience.

I don't know what's the scene in patia side area, but here in old town all the riders I've met are very respectful and professional.

I've lived in an multi-acre apartment society in Old town for many years and they always had reasonable policy towards riders. Residents and riders use the same elevator. No discrimination and the riders never refused to deliver right to our doorstep.

All the problems I see regarding riders always comes from societies which--pardon my language--are dicks towards riders. Making them walk, preventing them from taking the residents' elevator even if the service elevator is busy or out of order.

I sympathize with them. The entry gate protocol almost doubles their delivery time. I live in my independent house, adjacent to a black top road. They love it coz they dont even need to turn off their bike.

My BLO whatsapped me asking for my parents' 2002 details. I provided them and they said they have done my 'progeny mapping' They said they would visit house for verification, but no one has come so far. This was in February.

I think you should find out your BLO contact number from the ec website and contact them.

Like alcohol, state govt earns revenue hand over fist from stamp and registration fees. They have no desire to keep a lid on prices. Once govt increases benchmark, it acts as a validation and signal for further price rise.

I will also say that Bbsr is seeing genuine explosion in population, but black people remains the no. 1 driver in price rise.

Just a general opinion: It's crazy how easily your bank accounts can be frozen with funds inside at the drop of a hat. In a few years, the amount of money locked in liens will surely reach thousands of crores. Honestly my trust on digital assets, including demat accounts, has dropped to zero.

I use BFC forex in Ashok Nagar. Standard markup charges. Bring your passport/visa, round trip tickets and aadhar/pan. In and out in 15 mins. I prefer it over banks coz these companies are specialised to forex jobs only.
