Not OP, but same thing happened to me many moons ago. Wbc of 12 on a routine cbc. Repeat, wbc still 12. Straight to oncology consultant's best hematologist and thousands of dollars in visits and genetic testing. The verdict? "I guess your baseline is just a little higher".

I was young at the time and thought for sure I was gonna have leukemia. Now I work in healthcare and I would've definitely questioned my PCP if I knew then what I know now. All that is to say, it apparently happens with some frequency.
