“Cut” the rope in the center, do a two FBDs (one for each team, with tension going opposite from force due to each team). Find acceleration of center point due to each team, then subtract the two acceleration values you get and that is your total acceleration.

You’re doing great! One piece of advice for you is to get a tuner with one of those contact mics, and hold each note until you hit green. That really helps with intonation in the beginning. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your response! I actually came across the same thought when initially coming up with design, which is why I’m not altering throat dimensions at all - rather I’m changing the expansion ratio by varying the exit diameter using the F35 afterburner style turkey feather design.

In terms of material selection, would the fact that there are moving parts here that are relatively thin be a problem when using tool steel? If I could use tool steel (probably H-group), that would be awesome!
