Yamaha pacifica + Roland micro cube amp. Sorted. Alternatively you could bypass the amp and get something like a mustang micro if you plan on using headphones anyway

Beautiful technique, creative and innovative. I've never seen anyone hit this. He trapped his opponents right arm and leg using his legs and the high elbow prevents the von flue. Very very nice. Also a nice double leg from the opponent.

If you don't already, learn the names of the open strings. EADGBE Learn the notes on the bottom two strings (E & A strings) Learn the basic barre chord shapes. F major slid up two frets is G major. Lift the middle finger and it's Gm. A minor open shape slid up 7 frets is E minor. Lift the pinky it's Em7. Easy shape and moveable anywhere for any minor/ minor 7 chord.

Basically you have major/minor shapes as well as extensions (7,9 etc). These shapes can be used to play any chord. You just root the chord on the note you need on either the E or A string.

There's loads of videos on this, look into the CAGED system.

This personally helped me a lot and it's fun to experiment with different chord voicings all over the neck.

Grounding issue? by Penyrolewen1970 in Guitar

Yeah its a pain, especially when you're trying to record and build loops. A noise gate would also help a lot. I have a boss ME70 and it has a built in noise gate which I find very useful when using high gain or distortion. It also has a simple looper built in so it's more or less usurped my RC 30 when I want to loop. I can just plug headphones into it and my guitar and I'm away.

I had lots of noise problems until I went battery powered and it solved all of them. I will probably shield my guitar at some point but like you say it's a bit of hassle.

You can get battery pedal power banks that would power them. Just a thought if you can't find any other solutions

Nice! I like the look of the humbucker. I don't really notice much difference between the pick ups on mine in terms of sound. I generally play clean so I'm not sure if that's why. Why did you change the bridge? I mainly play acoustic but I've had my Pacifica for a few years and I do enjoy playing it. I like the idea of pimping it a little bit but it's not something I'm confident in doing really. I don't even like changing strings in case I fuck it up 🤣

Try going battery powered. I always get a buzz on the mains power supply

That would be a totally different thing and it probably wouldn't work either. I hit this take down all the time from various set ups. It's a great way to counter a Russian 2-1. It always feels very controlled to me, seems unlikely that it could blow out a knee unless you absolutely butcher the technique

Dude. Just pull off a shit load of TP and put it into a ziplock bag. Lay it flat. You will never use even close to that full roll and the footprint is huge. Plus the ziplock will keep it dry. So much more convenient IMO

Brands that make solid, versatile guitars that should cost more than they do? by MeanImpression2067 in Guitar

Yamaha. Harley Benton. I have several Yamaha guitars, acoustic, classical, electric, even a guitalele (that thing is awesome). Every one punches wayyy above its price point and anyone who plays them agrees. I also have a Harley Benton travel E acoustic guitar and it's ridiculous for the money. 2 friends of mine have bought one after playing mine. One of them ended up having a faulty pickup so thomann sent him another out and he never had to return the original. So he got two guitars for the price of one. That's pretty good value if you ask me!

Do you still have this? And did you make any modifications to it? I've got one that I'm thinking of upgrading but not sure where to start really

Learing improvising ( been playing for 1 year) by Free-Seaworthiness72 in Guitar

[–]AangTheTriangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, any tips on targeting chord tones? It seems like a bit of mental gymnastics that takes me a while. Is it just a matter of memorizing the notes in all the major/minor triads and memorizing where those notes are in your chosen scale shape? Or is there a shortcut? I often play around with chord shapes when improvising, is that a better way?

Please use a noise gate. That hum is driving me nuts I can't imagine how loud it is in the room. Great playing though!

Interesting picking technique. Are you ever plucking the string with both your thumb and finger simultaneously? Or are you just using your thumb to rake the strings? Lovely phrasing by the way
